PERMIT SYSTEM

Any reason why Hills Country couldn't have a similar sytem to the Yorke Peninsula and follow a permit system?
Basically you come ninth - you are able to have 9 new recruits the next year, 5th - 5, 1st just the one etc.
Permits could hold for two years.
Would encourage promotion of juniors and retention of any recruits.

Would even up the comp - on the Yorke's the Southern Eagles won the flag from fifth this year in a league where there aren't too many blowouts...

Good question...many of us are wondering why the points system has not been altered in HFL since it started...perhaps the club delegates should put up a motion..

The clubs agreed on keeping it the same for 2009.

This will only be it's second year running and it was said right from the start, that they would leave it for the first couple of years to see how it goes.

Would there be a problem with say a club that finishes bottom and gets to pick 9 recruits up but unfortunately cant afford to pay these recruits what they may expect to be paid ??
I like the idea personally but it could cause a problem if clubs are struggling financially
