shane broad to coach united. Opitz wouldn"t be happy considering the players he had this year. no recruits. but typical of united no loyalty

Opitz was one of the mouthiest rovers ever to suffer from small mans syndrome that I've seen. Belting him in the mouth was one of the more satisfying things I did in my short time with Two Wells....

Not doubting his ability wizard, just that he let himself down terribly with his mouth. B & F's don't detract from the guy being an absolute **** head!! As for Two Wells, we'd both agree on our assessment of them (Two Wells was closer than Wakefield or Balak)

if you knew anything about what you are talking about you would know That Trav Opitz took over from a local club man, at a club where there is a lot of "experts" from within the club. good luck to Broady as he will no doubt encounter the same sort of culture that is slowly killing the United footy club.
There is a bit of talent at United and if they had of persisted with Opitz they would have gotten better, but some of the hierachy at Longies needs to have a good look at themselves as success does not happen overnight, furthermore if we want to go through every season recruiting big name player after big name player we would end up in the same state as the Yorke peninsula league, completley gutted!!
It's interesting that you would mention anything about Two Wells, again if you knew what you were talking about you would know that their club was decimated by players chasing $$ and they have turned that culture around adopting a youth policy and enduring a few years of pain for the greater good of the club, as well as the competition.
if clocking Opitz was the best thing you did at Two Wells, you must have been an exceptional talent. Bravery like that doesn't grow on tree's, Opitz is all of 4"6 or something.
Quite a few people read this forum, consider what you are saying and who you are insulting!!

Rooster, you think people should "know anything about what they're talking about" - why do you say the YPFL is completely gutted?

The Yorke Peninsula league over the last five or so years has had a great reputation for luring players out there for big, big $$, which is their perogative, but at what expense!
they've had a few players sent down to league clubs and even AFL Teams (B.Vince) but essentially the measuring stick team in the competion is the club who has recrutied the best!
And Sadly the fact that they struggle to find players who want to represent that competition is indicative of the state that the YPFL finds themselves in.
Dont get me wrong, there are a great many good players running around up there for the love of it and that, at the end of all discussions, is what its all about. More Power to them. We should be encouraging the local talent more so than spend $700.00 a game on players who haven't played league footy!
that is why i think the YPFL should look at itself..............My opinion of course.

Can't disagree with any of that Rooster, you are spot-on - you could virtually rank the order of clubs by the number of paid players they have (allowed a max of 4)

Sam may play but he is a family man now, so he puts work first.
