Although I believe Rep footy should have a totally different set-up, I like this game. HOWEVER I believe the selection criteria can ruin the game.

The 'Must' selection of a certain number of U23's in the side is a joke if they want the best teams out on the field. I understand why the concept was put in place, to help develop young talent, but if they are good enough they would make it on their own merits.

If they insist on having an U23 theme, have an U23 game, showcase the best young talent in the comps against each other.

BL&G play four game a day as it is, so the U23 game would just replace the reserves game from a normal Sat.

That would allow the best players, no matter what age to play in the showcase game, then the concept can start to be taken seriously!
