Gees a tough task to predict the winner of the flag with the first bounce down basically 5 months away, and no real concrete idea of INs and OUTs for each club. If i was to have a guess Willunga would have to start favourite though given the depth of the club and their winning culture, and the fact that the Creeks may have lost some of their key players.

I know, but it will be interesting to keep an eye on the poll leading into the season

I must say the Creek will bounce back and finally win the flag upsetting the more fancied Myponga

You would have to say that Willunga are a clear favourite at this stage , a very stable club with minimal player movements . Their ability to produce good juniors and mould them into good senior players is well documented .

The Saints would like to thank the people voting for us but I think you might be a bit off the beaten track. Here's a trivia question: Has any team in GSFL history come from the wooden spoon to win the flag the next year?

Ben Fennel and Todd Russel have signed. We understand that Fennel is a very handy player but he is coming off a knee recon so he will be eased in to it. Dont expect too much from him.

I heard the same info re. Fennell, and that he hasn't had a kick for a couple of years...?
Good get though for the Saints, good player/good bloke lets hope he can recapture some good form in '08

Players like Fennel are the "x factor" with this points system. With not playing for 2 years they're worth minimal points, so if they recapture some form it means that they have a quality recruit plus they have sufficient points left to recruit more.

Its the same as Jarrad littlefield who has come on board for us. he has been working and travelling so he is only a 1 point player which is handy.

Expect Goolwa to come home in the 2nd half of the year with these recruits getting touch back?

Saints to finish 5,6,7 that will be a stepping stone to improvement.

I think you might be underestimating yourself LF. From the sounds of things a lot of clubs are losing players instead of gaining them (besides Willunga), so realistically some of them could come back to the pack. Should make for an interesting season.

They should! They should have been serious contenders in 07 from all reports.

For the better part of the year we were serious contenders, we will be working very hard to ensure we improve our depth and consistancy for 08 and sharing of the workload.
