I went Tanunda. Barossa will naturally drop off, with the import rule being lowered. Freeling will be around the mark again, if the Leals are classed as locals and hang around, may lose Frewen though. Tanunda were solid in 07 and I don't see why they couldn't go a step or two further next year.

Tanunda v Freeling GF for mine, with Kapunda 3rd and maybe BD, Souths or Willaston for 4th spot.

So the reigning premiers, Barossa Districts??, will struggle as a result of the import rule. Likely to lose Broadhurt or Thomas?

I voted for South Gawler, i believe that with the new import rule and a good run with injuries will help their cause. Also having Nick Pokopec/ Anthony Johnstone for a whole season will help

I heard he may be heading back to Kilburn, was not a very strong source however...

Pag I reckon your source just assumed that because O'Conner is coaching Kilburn Thomo will come back. I haven't asked Thomo personally but was told he is staying up there. More paddocks for him to graze in.

Even with Thomas staying, according to the other topic Barossa have already lost Brodhurst, Polkinghorne and Leslie.

On the slide already.

With Barossa losing Polkinhorne that is no big one as I heard that he was going to hang up the boots anyway, leslie will hurt them not being there but Brodhurst going ,well with the import rules they can't keep all of the imports. I would say that this will be going on at every club.

It will not hurt teams as much as others, teams like Barossa/ Freeling have had 8/9 imports for the last 2 years where as other teams like in Gawler only have had 2/3/4... my sources tell me the gawler sides could be back in contention this year

It's good to see that they are helping a team like the Gawler team's with taking away the imports from Barossa/freeling. I would think that giving the gawler teams some more imports would be the thing to do. Remember that Gawler has 20,000 people and barossa and freeling have only 3-5,000 people. I am glad that the BLG sat down and put all the brains together. maybe they did that's why they came up with the new crap import rule.

Andy#24.Can you confirm that one of Kilburn's Barossa recruits has been promised the captaincy (and v handy $$$) @ the chicks? If so seems strange but the guy is a great bloke and plays hard.

Holden is right. It might seem a bit strange but the group will be almost completely new and there probably weren't any candidates from the players staying on. Annoucing it so early will give him more authority on the track and so will let him and Ocker work together to get us going in the right direction straight away.

I have no idea what money anybody is on. I don't think he'd rock up to his first night at the club and tell everyone what he is on. What I do know is that the club isn't paying a great deal in total and so I don't think the Barossa guys are on heaps. Seems to me they are following Ocker as well as the import rule forcing some to leave.

Fair enough A24. Polkie is a good lad and hopefully he will do well. I am a little disappointed that he is not returning to his original SAAFL club but there is no way we were going to match what the chicks have agreed to pay him.No sour grapes tho as he has a young family and extra $$$'s are handy.I dont expect him to lob at the chicks and prattle on about the $$$ he will get.He is not that kind of guy. Good luck to him for getting the deal he has from the chicks and Big Phil.Looks like I will be down at BA reserve to watch The Incredible Polk for a couple of games when my team are playing on the other side of town.
