I'm not in the know. Just expecting the trend to continue. Throw a heap of money at a couple of players. Lose every game. Said players leave. Start again.

Come on guys, Salievic at Blackwood, Campbell at Ironbank, Lynch at Onkas, these are hardly household names! Are clubs running out of money and taking cheap options or are these guys super coaches?

Time will only tell MC, could go either way, but from the outside, I think Ironbank were very smart in appointing Campbell. They have some good young kids coming through and if he can just change the culture a bit, I think IB could be in for some competitive years.

Culture - do not think it needs that much tweeking Tanka - just hope Campbell gets more support from the top than the last coach - A grade has to be the priority & until that changes and everyone gets involved in driving that home - pushing sh#t up hill. Winning B grade & juniours is a piss weak way to gauge success of a club ( in particular div 1 ). A grade must succeed, that is what decides the publicity of being a successful team. Get behind Campbell and make sure he does not smash into brickwalls every second week & you never know - may even bring success. GOOD LUCK STROPPA!!!!! HOPE ALL GOES WELL!!!!

No in your initial post you suggested the players they get there are overpaid hacks not just that recruits leave on a yearly basis...

Bridgey struggle to keep their "overpaid hacks' because they lose week in week out and the "overpaid hacks" take all the blame....dont worry about the fact they are competing against lofties, uri's etc who have a sh*tload more cash. Not to mention the fact that some realise what a poorly run organisation the hills football league can be.
Harsh but fair.....

Your post is probably right on the money boozehound. I'm glad you took the bait of the 'overpaid hacks' line. I was expecting either you or Newman to join in.

Perhaps the players aren't hacks but they are overpaid. How else could Bridgewater entice them out there?

As stated, I dont think there is too much wrong, but talking to X last year he seemed to have trouble with attitudes and egos etc. That is why I think Campbell is a good choice because he knows the ins and outs already and may get more help from those in charge.

Of course Marshall won't stay I don't think any recruits will stay from this year. It is said Bridgy struggle to keep players, if they had the side from last year with blokes like Gatto, Donna's, big Franzy,Butchard,Bently even Kluzac I think the Raiders would have done ok this year and they were all good club men aswell.

Rumour has it the big 100 goal full forward from Reynella 'Milo' maybe signing with Blackwood. I'd say the Woods will be forking out some big cash here.

Why would they stay BH Boozehound is right the paid players that go up there are expected to change the world and get little or no help from the so called leaders and senior players of the Bridgewater Footy Club. Once the club started losing games regulary players like Bateman, Henshke and Gain started the lets divide the club and blame the imports club, which gathered momentum and Bridgewater self destructed. You cant possibly expect recruits to embrace the club when certain high profile players start to do this. It certainly seems a club of individuals and ego's and that certainly is a recipe for disaster. To add more woe to the club I have heard that the clubs best player beaver has a meeting with Onkas on Friday and may possibly be leaving the club. Bye Bye Bridgy if this happens!!! Ballhog you cant talk about what ifs, those players didnt hang around for a reason, and its the same reason why the club has a revolving door at the end of each season. Captain Koala and is merry men good luck.

Newman you have major issues people like marshall that come to a club just to chase the $$$ and don't play the team game and don't know anything about the club give us locals the shits. The people you are bagging are blokes that have played their whole life at that club and put everything into it. I could count on one hand how many handballs Marshall dished out this season or how many times he could have switched play but didn't. The reason people like him don't stick around is because when it's time to talk about next season the club isn't stupid enough to pay them the money they are asking.

Hey guys, new to the site, just wanted someone from onky's to clarify something, how in gods green earth did shane lynch get the gig out there, he would have to be one of the more average coaches I have seen, I was speaking with a couple of blokes from aldinga yesterday who told me, I couldn't believe it, the boys also told me who he was taking with him, Rosewall will be good for you but the other 2 played b and c grade at blackwood and a grade at aldinga but lets be honest who couldn't, I know he applied at our club but we said no way, did anyone else apply out there this year, or are you saving your dollars?

Mate you are an absolute joke he didnt approach the club the club approached him and if money was an issue with him then im sure he could have gone to another club which was offering alot more. I'm pretty sure there would be a number of people on here that would say he is a team player but your entitled to your opinion. The people who have played there teir whole life do not put everything in to it cos if they did the club wouldnt be in the predicament it is now. Maybe the reason he didnt handball is because he was playing with the laziest half back line of all time which were too lazy and stupid to get in to the right position to recieve a handball led by Captain Koala himself who was too busy looking for excuses and going off on stretches with corked thighs. You need to get your facts right before you start talking trout mouth and worrying bout your own backyard. The Captain of a football club needs to be a bit better than what you are and what you will ever be.

Paul Marshall isn't like that BALLHOG..

He is a good bloke. Who always plays for the team.
Im sure if the Bridgewater players around him did the same they would not be sitting down the bottom of the ladder.

Cant blame him for wanting to get out of there...
he served the club well this year, so maybe take a look at yourself before you blame the imports
