Interesting that everybody seems to have dismissed Mypolonga even though they were clearly the outstanding side for the last half of last year besides Grand Final day. They will run a lot of teams off their legs will get under the guard of anybody who takes them lightly.

Yeah I'm not going to write them of just yet but I guess considering they have lost 2 key players without known replacements people will expect them to stagger a little.
Personally I think they will be around the mark again but last time they made a GF, the following year they didn't play finals.
I think people are underestimating imps aswell. Finished last year without Davey & Wait & apparently Seyers is training the house down so that's 3 big ins from their losing prelim last year. Not to mention Puatti who comes with good wraps on him.
Margitich is massive loss to us. I don't expect to see him even now he has been dropped as he was asking for more cash and that is not a game we are willing to play. Sure we want him back, but offers from other teams we cannot get close to paying him.
My ladder is Mannum, Imps, Ramblers, Mypo, Meninge, Tailem and Jervois to go winless at the end of the minor round.. And the GF to be Mannum v any of the other 4, hopefully our recent experience will get us to the GF

Thinking the Bloods may struggle more than Tailem, biffboy?

Sure am! Have heard Tailem looked quite good in a trial (even if it was only Peake) and Jervois have lost a lot of fire power and Lyon. And we all know the Love boys aren't in it for the love

This weeks games:

Ramblers v Mypo: Interesting game which will give an indication of where Mypo are at against the reigning premiers and favourites for the flag in 2013. Ramblers 30-40.
Imps v Meningie: My game of the round with a nice little rivalry built up from last year when Meningie played the club song in the clubrooms after the game and Ferenci's famous post-game celebrations. Ferenci, King, Cunneen and Bruggerman all gone, not a lot known of their new recruits. Motlop said they'd go undefeated this time last year, lets hope he's learnt to give the comp a little more respect this time round. Imps 20-30.
Mannum v Jervois: Excited to see Mannum's new recruits in action. I predict Mannum may not too dissimilar from Meningie last year, in that it may take them a few games to get rolling. That being said, Mannum 40-50.

This weeks games for me,

Ramblers by 20-30 over the tigers
Mannum by 60+ over the bluds
Imps v bears could go either way, and should be a cracker game, bears by less than a kick.

Agree with your tips grasshopper but I reckon Imps by 3-4 goals.

Thats a strange comment when you consider that out of all the recruits 4 of them have played in this comp before in Gibbs, Benbow, Rossi and Arbon. add a fit Motlop and i think you will see a much better Meningie outfit than last year even with the losses mentioned above.

my tips

Ramblers by 30-40
Meningie by a kick in the game of the round
Mannum by 50+

and my ladder prediction

Ramblers
Meningie
Imps
Mannum
Mypo
Jervois
Tailem

GF Meningie V Ramblers - Meningie to be 2013 Premiers :D

Yeah fair call, though I did say 'new' recruits. I was talking more about the other players listed on sportingpulse Fishook, Roberts, Thomas Motlop, Woodbury etc. Assuming they're all A graders.

I think you will find that they are certainly all a graders. Especially Thomas Motlop. Have seen him play up in Darwin and he's an extremely gifted half forward that knows where the goals are. Pretty sure that Collins would be right onto it though considering he had a stint down at the roosters I believe. Have to say I reckon that Mypo v ramblers is game of the round though. Great way for both teams to kick off the year. I have to say I'm a tad confused with biffboys comment that Jervois will go winless? If we are going on trial form they knocked off Padathaway and Birdwood and with no disrespect to anyone I would think that these two clubs would beat Peake??

Think you will find Meningie will be under their allocated points due to replacing the loss of points players, with the recruitment of past players/ 0 pointers

I see your point however a mate who watched both Tailem and Jervois trials reckons Tailem look the better of the two. Yeah it could have been the lack of opposition that made them look better but I will take his word for it at this stage. Personally I hope both are competitive but I think they are looking at a pretty long season ahead of them.

My mail is Jervios have improved significantly from last year. The general mood around the club is much better and in my opinion they will be 10 goals better than Tailem. Tailem have been decimated and it is hard to see how they can be competitive. Very disappointing that the 5 can again be safely predicted before the season starts. Surely the credibilty of our competition must come before $$ and a final four must be considered.

Joining forces with the Mallee League might be the saviour of both leagues but would Mr Dalwood be happy with that occurring? I think not!

Id nearly back the RMFL to go to a final 6 before they move to a final 4  . Ridiculous really.

I reckon the restructuring of a lot of country SA leagues could be the saviour of a lot of the leagues but sadly cant see clubs agreeing and the same old same old to continue.
