Very well done to IBs 17s - possibly the most dominant team on the day, but kept us hanging as they couldn't kick straight. No surprises in any of the results IMO.

A Grade a boring game. Waited all day for it and left at half time as it wasn't worth watching. Why two coaches feel the need to have 2 blokes each free across half back and turn the game into a kick and catch event is beyond me. Was only going to play into Lofty's favour as the longer it went on the more Lofty wore down Blackwood. Why would Pagey not have tried to get more goals on the board early when he has the older side that would struggle as the game went on.

Highlight of the day apart from 17s was the Lofty streaker during the 17s game. We have video footage and it might just find its way onto youtube....

I agree. No-ones fault but that would have to be the most boring grand final day in the history of the HFL. The SC was probably the best but even that petered out after half time. The streaker, the 100m penalty against the Ironbank SC and the final siren were the highlights. I was looking for a refund of my admittance money!!

congratulations to the winners of all 4 grand finals. very well deserved. i agree with the posts so far saying that the GF'S on the day didnt really deliver the exciting finishes i had hoped for. my opionion of the 4 games-

A grade- Lofty were the best team all yr and deserved the 3 in a row. just so classy on every line and have 22 contributers each week. i know its a long way off next yr but if they keep the same team they will be harder to beat again with their sqyuad all under the age of 30 i think so they will onli get better. Thought blackwood hung in for a while but couldnt reli see them ever winning. Magery, gigney, roach, cobb didnt have big days and without these 4 in top form they were never a chance.

B grade- Thought lofty were gonna come back in true grand final fashion and clinche it but wasnt the case. if u look at both b grade sides its no surprise that they made the gf with i would say at least half the players being capable of playing a grade and both sides would beat both lobey and bridgey whcih is a shame. allen who was droped from the A grade had a huge influence and could have be used in the a grdae as they needed a goal kicker. maybe if lofty were switched on from the first bounce it would have been more exciting.

17s- ironbank looked the goods after quater time. just had 2 many strong players on every line. i thought spacie would have ben bog but burke did have a big influence on the game and a deserved winner. Uri onli had a couple of players who played at their best and it just wasnt enough. the likes of both popes sheerwood, malzard, copeland spacie and hobbs just too good for haliday tudor and kluvenik. poor performances by uri top 3 wotton leibelt and thomas didnt help the cause, 2 grand finals in a row for those 3 if i rememeber last yr correctly.

Under 14s- maybe the best game of the day- thought lofty gave it a real crack with all of their players lifting for the big game. but in the end blackwood thoguh sheer size and skill took the cake. both should b very proud of their effrots in a good game.

Paul Lowe won the 2008 B&F, David Bradbrook 2nd, Tom Matoga 3rd... all very good, and very young. Greg Hanton was probably the best birdwood recruit of '08... look out for us in '09.

From a Lofty perspective, we were quite pleased to see Gigney start in the back lines, he looked dangerous when he went up forward. It was an interesting decision I thought. And did Nathan Mitchell play? He was unsighted.

It looks like bridgewater could be in a bit of trouble don't think they will keep any of their imports from this year, but I don't think they are any great loss when you look where they finished. Doubt that they will pick up any quality they never seem to. If they move to cornerstone they won't have any money to afford anyone either.

Crikey, you blokes are quick to slag the GF. I would have thought if you were going to sink the boot into anyone it would be Blackwood. Kicking with the breeze in the first qtr , and quite a strong one too i might add, they kicked one goal to Lofty's 3. Blackwood were absolutely smashed in all facets of the game. It proves you can't run the same blokes in the midfield all day, look what happened to them in that second half, they had nothing. Gigney should have gone forward in that first qtr, did nothing all day.

Go you devils!

looks as if bridgewater will be even weaker. and birdwood need more than Kreig (dodgey ankle or not) but atleast seem to be trying something. how about lobey are they atleast being proactive too?

Heard a rumour that quite a few young blokes not happy at Mt Lofty due to lack of A Grade opportunities and they are moving to Echunga! Can anyone confirm that one?

I heard the same thing two names I heard mentioned were Anthony Cooper and Fleet, but don't think either of them would be missed in the side Mt Lofty have. Fleet is as soft as they come.
