This is definitely match of the round. I'm tipping Willaston in a very close one.

Sorry to disappoint you Slipper but i think Barossa will get the chocolates over Willaston comfortably...

rule a line over South Freeling and Nuriootpa
Angaston the big surprise today, not the win but the margin that is a massive win!
Tanunda played with South for a half and then kicked 7 in the third and 13 in the final. football-online website has wrong score at 1/4 time Tanunda 8.3 not 3.3.
Here comes Barossa....Hafey where are you? Childs in the best for Willaston, but not enough.
next week association game 5-6 from both Barossa and Tanunda and then they play each other the week after...that will be a HUGE game, two biggest clubs with supporter base at the moment and will show both where they are at on the field too!

Seems young? Mike Teakle doesn't have many friends at the Barracker, with his negativity, except of course for his beloved Panthers.

was up angaston way on sat. so snuck away to have a look at the local game. saw 3/4 of Bs & 1st qtr of As. #8 & #5 for angaston very good in that qtr plenty of drive from centre and 1/2 forward from those two[ 8 missing couple of shots should have got]. Ang. should've had it almost wrapped up in that 1/4 but let Free. back in late in 1/4. [on ballers not as eager to go back as forward?] big No 18 for Free. made a lot of good leads but seemed to be ignored by team, but he kept on presenting. unfortunately i got " sprung " at 1/4 time so had to go. Angaston's coach is very 'enthusiastic' during the match but had his plans and praises etc pretty measured at the break . i hope both teams stay injury free cos the ranks in the Bs look thin. #3 for Free. was good in his backline & he copped a hard knock as well , but kept going. it was my 1st look at footy in this league but cannot judge standard on 1 qtr. a good atmosphere at the ground [which is very good oval and surrounds ] pie was good but disappointed with sausage[cold, not tasty but it only cost $1 so you get what you pay for] it was a good outing ,will try to get to other games to get a handle on the standard

Old Moz, what do you mean you were sprung?

"enthusiastic" is that what you call it! He goes CRAZY!!

If you are looking for a good BLGFA game in the near future Barossa V Tanunda at Tanunda, should be packed house and good footy, especially if weather fine.

My son broke his leg on Saturday and had an operation at the Ashford Hospital on Sunday. He is sharing a room with a lad called Sam who broke his leg and dislocated his ankle also whilst playing for Nuri on Saturday. Sam is going alright but in alot of pain I understand. The boys are getting on well together. Bloody football !!! but where would we be without it.

Was it Sam Lee who broke his leg? If so he is the leading goal kicker in the u/15 league and the son of A grade coach Scott Lee.

That would be Sam Schmidt from Nuri. I got the text through Saturday night (as we are cricket team mates).

I was looking at the BLG representative team in the bunyip earlier this week... about half the side is made up of imports.
Maybe they should consider removing imports from the selection to see the home-grown talent play off

This weeks games are...

Freeling V South Gawler
Tanunda V Barossa
Willaston V Nuriootpa
Kapunda V Centrals

Some interesting games this week with only Willaston probably expected to win comfortably...

Freeling over South, South were bad last game (second half at least), Freeling to regain some pride
Toss a coin Tanunda V Barossa, prelude to GF you would almost say, should be a close game, Tanunda just because it's at their home and reportedly are recruiting a huge crowd for the day. Their list may not be finished for 2008 yet neither!!
Willaston will SMASH Nuriootpa, Nuri have more out this week from injuries last game as if they need that!
Centrals in a close game, bit of history and feeling between these two clubs, so should be interesting to watch!

I heared that Tanunda gave out free passes at the club and around town to get a big crowed to help the A's get over the line.
Being in one place with that many boxheads. I wouldn't call that a good day out.

2 out of 4 blockie... South smashed Freeling and if they kicked accurately from set shots the margin would have doubled and embarrassed the redlegs on their home turf. No one picked the Nuri win thats a mystery willaston must have had a terrible day. Tanunda are the best team by a mile and wont be challenged for the flag and Centrals look pretty solid holding on for a win against the improving Bombers. There you go Mike Teakle, i just did your round 8 report...

well...who would have tipped Nuri to get home against the Donnybrooks! South should have smashed Freeling but poor kicking let them down (4.10 in the 3rd)... It would seem as if only the plague would be capable of beating Tanunda, but the race for the top 4 seems to be heating up
