Good to hear they're staying. They'd be a loss to league.
Why is someone from another League asking about them -GSFL?
That's what I was replying to

It's not the first time I've read/heard about that proposition but I think there are plenty at the Redlegs who would oppose it.

No not really, while we have this F$%@ up points system they are the only club that can keep us off the bottom.

Most at Freeling would oppose it and i suspect the APFL may also oppose it fearing Freeling would be too strong.

IMO Kapunda would be more likely to seek another league. When it gets a bit hard they are more likely to look for easier options

I don't think there would be many in that boat in the APFL. The BL&G is nowhere near the standard it was 10 years ago and the APFL is improving. I'm not for second suggesting the APFL is of the same standard as the BL&G, however, I'm sure Freeling wouldn't have been bottom in the APFL last year like they were in the BL&G, but I certainly don't feel that would have featured in the two 2 or 3.

Yep you got that right. The APFL is coming from a long way back though.
The fear would be more what the ceiling is as far as spending goes. I think the BL&G clubs spend alot more and Freeling has the finances to be one of the highest spending clubs. This coupled together with the fast growing town would have the APFL very wary.
Freeling just need to stick it out a bit and they will be fine in the BL&G.
As i said Kapunda are more likely to investigate other opportunities.

Great to see that the 2014 SANFL Country Footy champs will be in Kadina, a great central location for most zones - that and a great big new footy club facility. Although there is a bit of conjecture about the format, no-one will be complaining about the venue!

Would there ever be a chance that the BL&G could host this event...? Nuriootpa would go alright!

Tanunda very close to signing an ex Pt Adelaide league ruckman for big $$$, will be the highest paid player in this league by far.

Dunne & Molyneux signed on with GC, they would be favourites for the flag next year as i do not think they have had many players depart?

Krieg to possibly return to Willaston after a stint in the Old Scholars (kicked almost 100 goals i believe?)

SGFC hoping to recruit Alan Obst back to the Den, would be a major boost for the young side.

Any other news??

I believe Casey Thomas has headed back to GC also after a couple of good years at Mannum. Was rarely beaten and will be a good pick up.

Wow if Obst goes back to the lions could be interesting have heard he is close to life ban due to amount of games he has been suspended over the years. Could be interesting if other teams target him to react.

On another note former reserves coach and A & B grade player for South Gawler has moved to Trinty Old Scholars to take up position as B grade coach, could be interesting if any players from the gawler sides he knows makes the move Trinty for something different then the BLG.

Good luck Luke McCracken.
