You should know better than anyone being from Tailem that its very difficult to find quality recruits that hang around. Why would Mannum say no to Clayton and Sheedy, who were basically gift wrapped in favour of 3 players who didn't exist at the same time? Why then would the RMFL say sorry we're not giving you extra points because you got two players (who are BTW great for the competition) instead of 3 players you had never spoken to? Give us a spell.

Tailems recruiting methods have been riddled with turmoil over the years. Any truth Moleman that Tailem offered Matty Thompson $1500 a game?

I'm not sure you get my point at all. Read the last post over. Of course you take the best available. Recruiting is hard for all clubs and well done to Mannum who seem to have done well in the past few years. I just don't see the points system doing what it was designed to if your arguement holds up. If you need more points for numbers, surely it's the clubs responsibility to use them wisely. If the extensions are to allow quality playing into the competition, then Imperials and Ramblers would have a case to up theirs. Maybe the RMFL would say get your four pointers in by introducing new players (0 pointers) to the game with and relinquishing some three point players. Maybe not, but those are the questions out there.

I'm not as critical of Mannum as you are making me out to be. Everyone is just wondering the Roos are going to manage their 15 points. And it seems to raise more questions about the criteria for more points, particularly when recruiting for numbers.

No I don't get your point as it all makes no sense. There are two parties that are privy to the information, the rest is nothing more than assumptions so really there is no point! Lets just agree to disagree.

hear Jervois have offerred an Encounter Bay player mega bucks for 2013. He plays centre half forward so doesn't make sense to me to offer that much when the team struggles to get forward. Might be sour grapes from me because we offerred a fair deal to travel about the same distance and want a chf to give us a shot at a flag!! But the money for a amateur/country player is staggering is all I'm meaning by this, might be better to chase 3 players for that amount.

Pretty sure Craig Evans from Sturt has signed with Meningie, or in the process of signing.

Bloke is a gun CHB that can go forward and kick goals.

He is moving that way for work/teaching and I expect him to sign up along side his old mate Ryan Morris at Central Augusta

The only notable player worth $ in encounter bays forward line in 2012 was welsh who played full forward. If it isn't welsh not sure who else you are talking about?

he didn't give much away when I saw him last week. But I'm pretty close with his brother in law and he's certain that it's a done deal. Will go very very well down at Meningie

Paul Rogan is the player we were told played chf for Encounter Bay last year. We could only go on advice.

If you missed out on him then you are probably the winner - I wouldn't be offering him 'mega bucks'. From what I saw he was hard at it but certainly no match winner for Bays. Kicked 12 goals from 18 games, 2 second bests, 1 third, 1 fourth, 1 fifth, 1 sixth. Think he might have won a B&F at PAOC prior.

Offering stupid amounts to lots of players![/quote]

The question that really needs to be answered here is who are you all getting your info from? I've read some poo on here but this is right up there. Anyone who has half an idea would know that Jervois have got very little money to be offering in the first place. Pretty much the same situation as many other country clubs. Half of these figures that we all here of have been cooked up by either the player themself to drive up their price on the market or some sideline hero who really has no idea about what's happening with their own life let alone recruiting.
