Who's excited? I just corrected you when you made an incorrect statement. It's not my fault you're uneducated.

now now gimp lets not get too angry about education lets face it birdwood folk are not known for their brains.

e.g. selecting simon johnson as a coach (what a great coach he was!! 3 grand final losses in a row!) also did he try to poach more players at a pre season trial against Birdwood? if birdwood had any brains he should not have been let back in that club.

Hmmm....an insult coming from a West Adelaide supporter!!

I think a lot of clubs would've been happy with 3 GF appearances in a row but yes a premiership would've been better. But we weren't expected to win any of those.

And on SJ.......lessons learnt!! Not welcome anymore, that's for sure!!

No, as i said, we spent smart. i don't know exact numbers, but where other clubs would spend $500/game on one player, we spent $150/game each on 3 players. We also recruited them off the field, made sure they were good blokes and good footballers. No one wants to play with a tosser who is just there for the coin. Most of these guys made the decision to hang around, even though some had offers for more from other clubs.

Give us a break mate. You have some very good footballers who earn their money, so a there is no shame in a bloke getting some coin which he deserves as a player and is a good club man, so there is no need to bulls**t. I personally have no issue with players who get good coin and are worth it, as long as they train hard, spend a bit of the cash back at the club and treat people with respect. You say the Lofty recruits are like that, i am not in a position to doubt you.So therefore i cant have a go at the clubs who do it, just makes it sweeter to knock them off if you know you are playing with a majority of blokes who just love their club.

Bat pad is right who are you trying to kid spearhead $150 a game and i can also tell you i'm pretty sure mt lofty are paying some of or most of their locals. I do agree you do have a good group of locals playing senior footy at the moment.

What do you mean by that?

Are you referring to the incident in rd 18 where one of your snr colts stomped on the elbows of one ours which dislocated it? He then went on to laugh and brag about it.

It's funny how you talk to other clubs and they also believe Ironbank U17's are feral.

Let's just hope the Roosters give them the revenge they deserve and kick them out in straight sets.

Obviously you have no idea what your on about Gimp, Were you at the game and did you see the incident?

Im not a Lofty supporter, but even im over the money talk... maybe clubs should spend less time bitching about how much clubs spend on their players and more time trying to get there club in a financial position to be able to do the same thing... It is now a fact of footy that paid players are needed in order to be successful... Correct me if im wrong but the top six teams this year all throw their share of money around...

My only problem with Mt Lofty spending a lot on players is the fact their away changerooms are the worst in the comp in direct comparison to their home changerooms... and their oval needs money pumped into it also but, after the rain we have had, whose doesn't???

Uraidla are much worse than Lofty anyhow when we played them they would have had 9 players at the most that had played juniors at their club...

BALLBAG, you clearly don't know a ******* thing about Mt Lofty.

Your last 4-5 posts show you are one of the most ignorant, unintelligent people on this site. The Devils A grade is made up of about 80% locals who played juniors at our club.

Do us all a favour and jump in front of a fast moving bus. Idiot.

BALLHOG, which lucky club is fortunate enough to have you as an ally? If it is anyone but Lobethal you are a hypocrite. Every other club has used clubs funds to attract recruits in 2008. Mt Lofty have simply invested their money better than anyone else, and their recruits only complement the strongest group of local footballers in the HFL.

Its funny how the same stuff gets thrown up on this thread. Money money money.

Before I ask a question about actual footy, firstly thanks to the person who posted about uri's and for giving us a better incite into the locals at Uri's. Not much is spoken about the locals up there.

With regards to Mt Lofty, in 2004, the oval was a disgrace where no grass was seen on it and a huge river of water used to flow from the top pocket to the bottom pocket. Coco has invested time and money every year since then top soiling the oval with sand so the oval is not a mud heap anymore. Unfortunatly the last 3 years,as we all know has been a drought, so little water could be used to keep the grass growing. However, the oval is in much better condition now (besides the amount of rain the hills have had this year) and the facilities are much better.

Agreed the away change rooms are not as good as the home change rooms, but that is apparent everywhere. Take a look at the change rooms for alot of SANFL clubs. North Adelaide away change rooms have been terrible for years compared to the home, Eagles the same, West, Port, Centrals, South and the list goes on.

Lofty's away change rooms are at least ready for a football team. there are other change rooms out there that dont even compare.

Anyway, so back to actual footy. This is why we play the game! So when is the mail medal night?? Who is the favourites from each club, and also what are the predictions for the games this week. being Overseas, I have only had information relayed to me, but it seems as though Brad Burch would have to be one of the clear favourites. Fromt his info I would assume Lofty would get over blackwood by under 5 goals depending on the weather, and barker will dispose of hanhdorf by about 3 goals.
I wish I was around, havent missed footy until the talk of finals are around!!

Then you get those <edited by mods> from Onkas who plug up the drain in the showers and flood the changerooms while they're visiting.

Why should the club bother to improve the rooms when idiots pull stunts like that.

Interesting call on strongest group of local footballers. perhaps Lofty do, could make for an interesting discussion.

Here a few of the other sides local talent

Hahndorf- Cooper, Kaeslar, Bishop, Wyld, Purling, Kempe, Johnson the standouts, Gallagher,Nicholas,Stansborough,Stephens and Treagus only blokes not to play juniors at the club.

Onkas- Smart, Tanners,Shee,Smith,Gardner,Wescombe the standouts. The other Smiths, J.Russell, Contin,Ryan and Tutt the only regular A graders not to play juniors at the club.

Mt Barker-Nunan, Murphy,McDonald,Williams,Henke. Not sure if Mt Barker even brought anyone in this year who wasnt a returning junior.

Torrens Valley- Scott Perryman, Dollar in the B grade.

Kersbrook and Meadows both have a Majority of Ex Juniors, but the rest of the Country Div clubs i think would be recruit heavy(im sure someone will point me out if im wrong)

Trigger,

The Mail medal is Wednesday night, Wendelborn and Williams have been invited from Ironbank. I would think Wendel’s would be a good chance this year he is highly visible to the umpires although he also does talk to them about their decision making skills. His profile was raised by finally being asked out to association and did well in that game.

Your assessment from afar on the two finals would be about right although it looks at this stage that the weather may fine up, so that could add another couple of goals to Lofty’s margin, but bring Hahndorf closer to Barker although if the report on Gallagher is right that would be a big loss.

Be surprised if Nunan doesn't take the mail medal again. Good in wet and dry and Mt Barker won more games this year. Burch the other standout for me but has other vote grabbers in his team, particularly since Bawden returned. Unfortunately any of IBs prospects sunk in the mud once the rain set in, but expect plenty of votes in first 2/3 of season.

Re. the money talk, it's a waste of time duscussing. Do any of you really know what blokes are on? The fact remains that it is a joke anyone gets paid a cracker to play our level of football. It is the reason why your supporters pay money to get in the gate on a saturday. Having said that, the money is there so if your club is willing to fundraise heavily in order to support the players, then your club is likely to be successful and what other clubs aspire to be.

I think Brad Burch will be hard to beat in the count one of the hardest but fairest blokes I've seen play. Is cooper any sort of chance would think he would poll well?
