you can get plenty of $ at the lions they tell me in the spencer gulf league!! They even pay coaches who have hardly won a game in there coaching careers and have been told not to re-apply for their jobs again at every club they have been to!!.

straight talker wrote:i believe i was talking about Brian Butchy Smith! cos if you read it properly DUCK has only ever coached solomontown i believe?? Next please!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you were talking about more than 1 coach being paid and it makes no sense, as I believe that Butchy had an application accepted (but did not appoint) at his old club Sollies this year!
All clubs struggle from time to time and Lions may be in for a tough run, Port last year, Sollies before that, they don't need keyboard warriors taking gutless cheap shots to let them know where they are at. Give it a break, there will be other clubs that change coaches next year as well, why not talk on the positives about our game and league?!

yes sorry if i said COACHES it was just a figure of speech!! solomontown accepted his application well i guess why wouldnt they?? any club would accept any application!!  He would have known he was never going to get the job, how could you give someone a job with a record like his compared to Bob Boston and his record?? I agree it has been a good season al round so far and i hope a pirie side wins the flag.

If Sollies can accept Butchy's application after apparently telling him 'not to reapply' then I too can accept your apology. Plenty thought you wouldnt say sorry but there you go!
This is the last time I'll bother with your posts though, I'll stick to footy comment, but it is ironic given your comments on both Duck & Bob that they both bow out in the same year if the word on the street is correct! Interesting last 5 games coming up! If it is to be a Pirie Premiership with Lions and Sollies unfortunately now missing out in this now wide open year, Port will appreciate all support from the locals Im sure.

Agreed- tips this week anyone?
Port over Lions and Central over Sollies but the ripper will be South v West.
South seem to have the wood on West but West looks the better side IMHO.
South have much better structure with Amos up front, he is such a difficult match up and gives them another option apart from Schmidt. I'll tip South in a toss up.

If West win will probably finish the top four once and for all.

Question who is the most underrated footballer(s) in each side and perhaps league if your views stem that far.
Matty Grantham is one that comes to mind very easily flys under the radar for South.

I'm with ST on this one, if you don't like what is said on this forum, then don't read/reply to it. I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion, as longs as it doesn't get too personal and we stick to the facts. Prehaps McGovern needs to leave his badge at work and chill out :ymparty:

No Neary no Port , was a close game until he got injured

lucky for lions he didn't play, imagine how ridiculous they would have looked if he did.

obviously a Port hater..you may want to actually watch the two play rather than just who gets in the best..
alot better looking like tarzan and backing it up than looking like tarzan and playin like jane which alot blokes do in the SGL

Giving Neary too much of ports credit there big secret, the kid needs to focus more on his goal kicking and less on his tan

Haters are guna hate FF but I have nothing against ur beloved doggies just can't be effed driving all that way to sledge the Adelaide pair every Saturday (hence why I asked if undz was playin/injured going off results) I see he's found some form the last couple of weeks-does he still try and take mark of the year every game with his eyes shut??? Haha

How costly now is that game that Solly threw away when 3pts behind at 3qtr time with a howling gale to finish v South a few weeks ago? Disappointing.
