Was in Murrayville today - boy is the town proud of its footy club.

"The Bulldogs have got their bite back".

Good to see.

No Bailey in that side either... certainly got depth this year the bulldogs. I also heard around the traps this week that Murrayville pushed their centre half back and full back up forward in the last quarter and they kicked 6 goals between them! thats kicking the poor lions when they are down.

Mallee Match Preview –16/6/2007

Karoonda v Murrayville

Karoonda are playing well in patches, but need to string four quarters together to trouble the top sides. Justin Maloney, Scott Huxtable, Mall McLean, Simon martin & Todd Boughen are winning enough of the ball in the midfield and Lucas Neumann has been in good form, carrying the ruck duties in the absence of Jason Morris. Jason should make a welcome return this week. The form of Chris & Josh Rudiger has been a bonus in the forward line for Karoonda.
Shannon Wyatt & Clayton Sporn are a formidable attack, with plenty of supply from Rian Crane, Damien Fenoughty, Dallas Willersdorf & Drew Crane. Brad Wyatt is solid in defence with will Dalwood & James Dixon a good combination in ruck.
Murrayville will look to consolidate top spot on the Premiership Table.

Lameroo v BDT

Lameroo recorded a good win over Karoonda last match without some key players. Brad Zerk should return this week, but Shaun Walker is still a little way off. The loss of Chris Philbey will be hard to cover, although Ryan Walker is playing well as an opportunist forward & Dan Wohling is dangerous when resting up forward. Matt & Josh Ridgway, Craig Well burn & Rodney Maynard still provide plenty of drive from the midfield. Ben Venning provides a big mobile target at centre half forward.
BDT are building well towards the finals. Greg Nunan has been amongst the best when he plays with Luke Remfry & Lachlan Richardson in good touch. Michael Brighton is settling in well and if Shane Binns plays he will make a big difference.
BDT may just sneak home in a close match.

Peake v Pinnaroo

Peake had a bad loss to Murrayville last start with a severely depleted team. Peake need Jamie & Toby Downs up forward to provide a target. The midfield has improved with Phillip O’Loughlin & Brendan Pett to support Gareth Diprose & Mark Boothey. Daniel Marrett is providing strong support for Stephen Morris in ruck & Stuart Bond is having his most consistent season for Peake.
Jimmy Struck returned for Pinnaroo with 5 goals last match & he provides a great alternative to the tall forwards in Mark Gum, Matt Thiel & Wade Nickolls. Sunyl Vogt hasn’t put a foot wrong all year, while Brett Gum & Leith Dabinett are starting to feature amongst the best players. Scott Kirkbrighy has resurrected his career playing great football from a wing.
Peake will improve, but Pinnaroo will win.

Daniel Marrett played for Kimba B grade a few weeks ago went quite well playing in the mid field. Cowell Footy Club gave him the opposition player of the day award, so he has a six pack waiting for him next time he is in Cowell.
