So can anyone shed some light on what happened at Loxton? Paper said Goof couldn't coach next year because of other committments, but I hear he got the arse. If he did get the arse, that is pretty poor form from Loxton I reckon. To get them into a GF in his first year as coach and then get told see ya later, is pretty piss weak in my opinion.

He told them he wasn't interested after receiving an interesting handwritten letter that was not signed by anyone stipulating EXACTLY what is expected of the Loxton A grade coach.

So he told them to stick it up their arse. Basically.

Was it from the committee?? Interesting to note he was being told what was expected of him after making a grand final. If they were struggling, fair enough, but not after a reasonably successful year.

A few rumblings coming out of Loxton with cracks appearing in more than one area.

I wasn't told who it was from, just that it was messy handwriting and not signed by anyone.

He is quite disenchanted with the whole debacle.

Part of the detail was longer Thursday night trainings.

Dont most clubs train shorter on Thursday nights to freshen up and make sure you are right for Saturday? Longer on Tuesday nights earlier in the week to allow time to recover.

Strange decision by Loxton after Goofs good record in his first season. Surely they appointed him for what he has done in the past and they thought he would bring that to the table again which on his record you would assume he has done. Sounds like they are trying to be wise with hindsight. If they want to sack someone how about the person who does the clearances down there - he/she has a fair case to answer to!!

Do you know if the lower teams from last year will receive more points than the top teams next year?

No. Each club will receive a maximum of 14 points.

I can confirm Reflex's post too.

if a club is struggling for points the temptation will be to play a kid on the bench who has already played under 18's to get under the 14 allowed
