Mallee Match Preview –2/6/2007

Murrayville v Peake

Murrayville will be extremely confident after brushing Lameroo aside last week. They have proven goalkickers in Shannon Wyatt & Clayton Sporn, with plenty of support from James Dixon, Rian Crane & Michael O’Malley. The midfield has a variety of options with Damien Fenoughty in great touch, along with Kevin Wyatt, Dallas Willersdorf & Alistair Heintze. Drew Crane & Brad Wyatt lead a solid defence.
Peake are chipping away, but face a huge task at Murrayville. Brendan Pett is a quality midfielder and will support Gareth Diprose & Mark Boothey. Jamie & Toby Downs are a good target in the goalsquare & Shaun Holland will support if playing up forward. Stuart Bond is enjoying a good season at centre half forward and Kieran Jaensch is getting back to form after a late start due to injury.
Murrayville will be too strong at home.

Karoonda v Lameroo

Karoonda are playing well in patches, but need to put 4 quarters together to match the top sides. Younger players in Andrew Smithson, Stephen Thiele & Gavin Wohlfeil have stepped up this year and are playing well. Lucas Neumann, rucking in the absence of Jason Morris is creating opportunities for his midfielders, with Scott Huxtable & Justin Maloney always giving drive from the midfield. Luke Hocking & Adrian Gregory are providing marking options in attack, but need more supply.
Lameroo miss Chris Philbey in attack & Shaun Walker in the midfield, although Dan Wohlings return is a bonus. Matt Ridgway & Craig Wellburnare in good form with Ben Venning winning his share of the ruck duels & being a threat up forward. Rodney Maynard stills picks up possessions wherever he plays.
Lameroo will look to bounce back after last weeks loss and make it difficult for Karoonda.

BDT v Pinnaroo

BDT dominated the scoring shots against Peake, but were extremely inaccurate in front of goal. Travis Miegel is playing his best footy for BDT & Ben Hooper’s return is a timely boost. Lachlan Richardson & Luke Remfry are hard workers & Jordan Richards is strong from half forward. Nathan Todd provides a target at full forward, with Matt Schilling covering plenty of ground at half forward.
Pinnaroo have Sunyl Vogt in Mail Medal form and Andrew Hoskin has been a valuable recruit from the Riverland. Chad Nickolls & Matt Thiel are a huge advantage in ruck, with Wade Nickolls strong at half forward. Brad Shroder is a hard running wingman who uses his penetrating left foot to good effect. Mark Gum has strong hands at full forward and continues to kicks goals each week.
BDT at home can defeat Pinnaroo in a close match.

Nunan a very good player- hard nut sharp around goals!

What happened to Peake on the weekend?

I see murrayville's 2 forward targets kicked Half the score between them... Was anyone playing on them?

Interesting to note that both umpires where from peake and even that didn't seem to give the lions any advantage...

Yeah was at the game and didnt look great, that Bloke who kicked 7 though, they were the easiest goals Ive seen... Dunno what his name was but nothing special.. Its a good sign when you've got Drew and Ryan Crane on the Flanks..

Even BDT with all the Richo boys back this week and Lameroo at Full strength, the Dogs just look streets ahead..

Thought the delivery into the forward line for murrayville was first class. Very hard for the full back to effect a spoiler with some of the delivery. Def streets ahead of everyone else at this stage

I think the bloke was clayton sporn and from what ive heard you must have been at the bulldog bar when he kicked that snap on his left from the boundary.and seven goals is pretty good when he started in the ruck in first half . and must have a bit of talent he is sitting second in the goal kicking and is only 18 . Looks like dixon and omalley did not play either ?
its all about september
