yeh you are probably right. i was just assuming a 4 team finals setup. it is a pity it is just a 1 v 2 final, there is plenty of time to do a normal 4 team finals structure.

Question to the forum:
What are the thoughts from everyone on the C grade competition in regards to Teams NOT being able to fill sides on game day?
My thoughts - not good enough! There has to be a penalty incurred for the club unable to scrape together a side. You have players (alot of younger players in some clubs) which travel all the way to the grounds for a kick in particular finishing work early friday nights to get to the game - thus costing them money, and when they get there they find out there is no game. It is too easy to pull out when there is no penalty in place. You committ a team in the comp - you fill that obligation to the comp. Has been very frustrating for the lads this year - and in Ironbanks case they were even forced to play with the same numbers due to Hahndorf not having enough (13 or 14 if I remember correct) and then went on to lose the game to them - ridiculous. Not enough games in the year to have clubs failing to comply.
Be interested in hearing some comments!
If you are going to have a C grade - bloody run the thing properly & professionally.
I agree that a 1 v 2 final is also a pathetic way to end the year for the c grade competition. Anway play on and Great to see Ironbank in the five - Will they get to see Onkas again!!! - Bloody KARMA coming back to shut some fat mouths hopefully.

Apparently a player in the Handorf C's had a say in the finals structure too....

Not that i'm implying anything

OKO- Your probably aware of my views. IB will not play 14 Vs 14 again. At the time it seemed like the right thing to do, good sportsmanship, but it has cost us a spot in the GF and we had 8 on the bench not getting a game.

The big fella - get a spoon and eat my butt. I know for one that our players are serious about it - maybe whatever team you are in need to think about pulling out and joining one of the six a side competitions as social events. C grade is a competition and a would hope that clubs treat it that way. If it is for fun & games well piss off and do not enter the comp and waste everyones time and effort.

Blackwood thieves

Postby Shanty Lad » Mon Jul 21, 2008 4:39 pm

Cheers to the Blackwood supporters who stole the keg from Bridgewater oval during sundays c-grade. Good to see one of the richer clubs stealing from one of the poorer ones. Hopefully someone at the ground that day can identify the thievin a^%e holes involved

there is only two teams i can tell that take the c grade seriously and they are floggin everyone else cos the rest of the teams use the c grade as a chance for blokes that havent played before and blokes that are getting a little old to still have a kick and they DONT take it seriously at all... if you were so knowledgable you would know this! you spanner

Yep, every IB C grade player wants to prove themselves worthy of a game in the Bs and have a crack at the flag this year.

From what ive heard, alot of the blacky boys arnt interested in playing B grade at all, they just want to play together with their mates after getting shafted by the club from country div.

But it is frustrating to play when the oppisition rocks up with minimum players... (and no boundry or goal umpires) or just forfeit and waste everyones time.

It is great for Ironbank that they do have competition for spots in their B's and need to prove themselves in C Grade- this will improve their B Grade no end but not everyone has to take it seriously. No doubt Ironbank's attitude towards the C's has bolstered their chances in both the senior teams so be grateful for this and move on.

Fair call there Mr.Nixon - Just bloody frustrated and disappointed for the lads in the C's - They love their footy and their team and it shits me that they keep getting let down by other clubs either pulling out or not fielding enough of a side - will move on as we have bigger fish to fry - But I believe the Ironbank boys might be disappointed again this week due to another club not fulfilling their committments - piss weak - good way to finish the year hey - any way enough said.
