Banker the three C grade games have been moved 2 uraidla on sunday and i do see your point about lamshed targeting ironbank realy if hes going 2 ban footy at ironbank they should ban footy at Bridgey and Mt barker as well all three ovals are terrible. I wish they would ban footy at barker this week end not looking forward to playing on the mud heap.

IB oval condemned hey? ha, in good company with bridgy there. think they had that done a few yrs ago but it was alot worse than IBs. so is the issue the sand or just the playing surface in general, cause it is a sand pit. pretty sure ive played in worse conditions on almost every other oval in the comp. (uris prob the only one thats always in good knick) heard tonight that u may be playin on a ground in the national park, any truth to this??

Well I heard nothing from training tonight as to us playing at another oval so assuming the games are going ahead at IB. Seems Sanity prevailed. Don't understand why the C grade would have been moved unless it's to lessen the load on the oval but only a few months off, not one Sunday, would let the grass grow back surely.

Poured at training tonight and the oval handled it with flying colours so come Saturday after all this rain I know out of Mt Barker and IB which one I would be picking...

Correct, C Grade games moved from IB to Uraidla on Sunday to lessen workload on oval. Logical enough. No saturday games will be moved. Oval has been approved by council (not even close to being declared unsafe) after very thorough testing. Onka council actually do the tests on all their ovals every month, so I assume one could get hold of those tests for each oval within the council. Should have been the first step instead of slapping ban, if only we had a consistent approach from the top.

Correct that our comments will not help the relationship, but if there is virtually no relationship it doesn't really matter.

Didn't they make Kersbrook play at Milang or somewhere else a few seasons back because their oval was in poor condition?

Perhaps all games should be played at Uraidla!

It's a bit rough that Ironbank are being singled out when their oval is definitely not the worst in the comp. Mt.Barker is by the far the worst. I can't see anyone contracting Golden Staf at Ironbank like some players have in the mudpit at Mt.Barker. I would have thought that would be more of an Occupational Health & Safety hazard than a bit of sand. Although Ironbanks surface is the hardest in the comp I would rate it ahead of Mt.Barker & Bridgewater and even Blackwood. Lobethal & Lofty can be pretty ordinary to play on too, particularly after a few days of solid rain and traffic.

I wonder if this discussion will get a mention in the Budget this weekend?

Im sure everyone would like to hear the HFL Policy about the condition of ovals.

Do you guys realise that this competition is played in the HIlls, where it's likely to rain a tad more then in the city? Therefore ALL grounds are going to be affected with the likelihood of a bit of mud laying around.
Perhaps some of the city recruits would prefer not to get dirty playing a game of Hills footy, get used to it lads!

Howard you have obviosly never seen the conditions of Mt barker, Bridgey and ironbank, i seriously doubt you would want to go out and play on these ovals if you had a look at them currently  Besides the oval that holds up the best in the comp is uraidla which is affected by more rain than any other oval in the hills

Any results from the weekend? I saw Lofty pump Lobethal by about 217 pts- poor Lobey really struggled in both senior grades. I think A's was 31-31 to 1 point. Andrew Bawden in great form- I'd say clearly 6 mail medal votes from the last 2 games. Looking forward to the night games this week at Blackwood.

Uraidla bt Mt Barker by forfeit.

A scratch match was played with Uris lending a few players to Barker and the result of that was a comfortable win to Uraidla.

c's : lofty vs kersbrook ended up as a tie. with t.maslin, the lofty player who filled in for kersbrook as they were short, played a blinder of a last qtr and helped the brookers catch up on the score board. ha, well done rumpy

C grade: Ironbank 12 goals to Onkas 1 in very wet conditions in the early game on Sunday
Hanny stared with many goals at FF, Boundary Ump, Ball fetcher, etc. :)

LOL classic! Perhaps an attempt at revenge for missing a few GF's over time... ahhh the irony ha ha! Perhaps Tommy should have checked the ladder first to realise it wasn't exactly going to effect standings. At least we've found a team where he can get a hold of the leather anyway

What are the start times for the 2 senior games at Windy Hill this week GTS?

IF lofty drew yesterday it could actually affect the standings. If Uris win next week and lofty lose to barker, Uris or Mt Barker will play finals and Lofty would miss out.

Fun times in the C grade.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the powers that be (cough cough) decide it was 1 v's 2 for the C grade GF? It was in the budget a couple weeks back i'm sure... Lofty were 2 games plus large % behind, couldn't make it without a miracle... now that IB won it's impossible.
