I agree Mt Lofty look probably premiers and Blackwood appear safe but don't write off Uraidla just yet. Also think Onkas still might sneak in so that leaves one spot for Mt Barker, Hahndorf and Ironbank, maybe Mt Barker!

Incorrect Banker. We qualified first time in 1997 under Rod Campbell. Lost to Uraidla at Blackwood in an elimination final. Perhaps the best side on paper I have ever played with or even seen in Hills, just couldn't string it together as a team. Mind you, there were some other super sides in those days like Hahndorf and Loby.

Last year was the third time we have qualified if I remember right.

Any word on any (more) new Uraidla recruits this week? I heard they were trying to get Josh Coulter and another disgruntled North Adelaide mate up there before the June 30 cut-off. Geez, if North ever play a legends match they may as well just get Uraidla to rock up and play in it. There must be a lot of money in the cabbage business.

ok champ, tell me the players in the team if you know so much. there is nothing strange about a team of super individuals that don't play well together. More importantly, that team was put together over 2 seasons before disbanding as we went to Div 2. There was only one season where everyone played together and we had some of our key blokes go down midseason and we didnt have the depth to cover it. Top 18 on the field was a super list.

If you look past your ignorance, you will note I never said we were the best team that year or any year.

Josh Coulter playing for Fitzroy! They are bottom of div 4! He must really care about his footy. Please someone correct me by telling me he played his juniors out there and is returning to his home club.

You said it rock....i'm just providing my opinion if you hadn't noticed. What the hell do you have to do with this conversation anway, we don't need another big brother.

Anyway, apologies if i seemed slightly surprised by the comment. Call me naive, but i just find it a bit hard to swallow that Ironbank had the most talented side to ever grace the hills. You're right, i couldn't name one bloke that was playing back then unless of course big red muff was playing, which i'm guessing he probably was. Having said that, i could real off some pretty talented sides spanning the last 7 or 8 years.

Has anybody seen Rob Clothier playing this year? the bloke is in his forties and still racking up the touches in the A2s, if he wanted to im sure he could still play in the A Grade. In his day Red was the best footballer i have ever seen play in the HFL and this year he is teaching a very young Cabbage team how it is done.

Also another former Uri A Grader, although this one much younger, will be lining up at Bridgewater for the Cabbage A2s 2morro. Should kick a bundle.

rob clothier was a gun in his day and not many would disagree. had the privelidge of him coaching myself and he knows alot about the game. but he would not play a grade at moment for anyside. after watching him play b's on weekend he wasn't moving the best. basically stood at centre half back the whole game.

ironbank did have a fair side back in the day under rocket, mouse, red muff barnabey too but although looked good on paper no where near the hahndorf and lobey around that time.

Joel will be making his comeback in the 2's tomorrow after some time out of football. Will probably spend a couple of games in the 2's.

On a previous post relating to Uraidla possibly recruiting more North Adelaide players, currently with their best side out on the park it equates to 34 points so there is no room in their points cap for any additional players. Coulter was pretty keen to come up and play though from all reports.

Uraidla wont be picking up many more north boys the only one that might still come up is Ebert's brother (who played a game early on in the year) but this is only a rumor i dont know if there is any truth in it. But it is good to see big joel brown heading back to the club (he looked a bit rusty at practice) but i woudnt want to be the poor bridgy bloke that has to stand him in the bs tomorow!!!

Never said the best side ever either, only from what I've seen in last 12 yrs....on paper. Obviously should have brought this up 3 days ago when this forum went quiet.

Well speaking of Rob Clothier he was one of the Uraidla blokes that destroyed us that day in 97. Clothier played for Bridgey a couple of years back and while he still had skills, he was well short of his ability back in the day. Been runner in the twos this season when not playing.

Joel Brown is obviously a very handy inclusion for the Demons, one thing they really lacked on the weekend was a decent target coming out of the goal square. The goal posts looked more threatening as forward options than Kane Mclean did last week.

Anybody got any scores from today. Ironbank 26.23 v Lobethal 7.4. Heavily one sided game A's B's & 17's. Good momentum game for Blackwood this weak. Come on lets see some scores and helmets need not reply. Go thunderers!!!
