Neither Nairne or Gum Coaches, Assistants or whatever did anything to the young players that were sent off. The players sent to the bench were not disciplined in any way. This is strictly a club problem at U17 level way before it gets to the HFL. What did you want the umps to do?? They held up yellow cards and blew their whistles which is all they are entitled to do. This is a reflection of the attitudes of the 16-17 year old kids now and if the clubs accept this from their own kids there is not much else the HFL can do about it once the brawl starts.
thank you. some sense at last. and while we're at it, what action have the clubs taken towards the parents of players who enter the field when things go off. but it's much easier to blame the hfl or the umpires. about time clubs took some ownership here.
Agreed. All clubs are very aware that they can issue club reports against opposition players/officials and the matter will be heard in front of a non-biased panel on Wednesday nights. If you don't understand the process don't come on here to blame the HFL.
I agree also. The clubs need to take some responsibility in the disciplining of the individuals involved.
Good to see I'm not a lone voice in sticking up for the HFL board as I have been on the central forum.
