Why would Brighton lodge a clearance. Chris was under 15 when he went there so he wouldn't have needed a clearance. Apparently it is now in the hands of the SANFL so yes lets all move on. Anyone got any other news on clearances . From what I believe the clearances open later next season. Can anyone confirm

Just wondering what Terry lefty was doing next year. Is he coaching at some level. I know he's not at Barmera. I spose he's been in the caper for quite a while now.

rod hankin has the cheque book out and is chasing a few of cobbys better players. no offence to the guys involved but i doubt these blokes would get a run in the top 2-3 sides in the rfl. don't know of an indy player that has come back to play rfl and had any influence in recent times

The bloke that played CHB for Berri did ok this year for an independent hack.

He's back!

Apart from Renfrey, Raeder did a good job this year I thought too.
Dave Gregoric played in several premierships with Loxton North after coming from the Indys.

Anyway, I'm sure that Hankin's a lot smarter than to "throw the chequebook at Independent players". I'm sure his connection with those blokes during a successful period at the Eagles would be more than enough lure to get them across.

It will be good for numbers if not anything else. Im sure the B grade coach would love not having to ring as many blokes on thursday night

Heard a very interesting story last night re Goof Smith. Loxton not happy that he didn't implement the game plan they asked him to. They did end up minor premiers, so I don't know what they are whinging about. Anyhow, if the situation can't be sorted out, Zerna is going to put his hand up and take on the coaching role next year and bring in an assistant from the B Grade and blood him into becoming senior coach down the track.

It astonishes me how a teams board/committee hires someone to coach, then tries to tell them how to do their job, not just to the above story, have heard of it happening from time to time with most of the clubs in the RFL.

Good call Johnny. They say to a bloke he can be the coach, they want him to be the coach as long as he does it the committee's way. If the committee want it done their way do it themselves or find someone who does it the way they want. There is no point trying to change the coach - he will be unsuccessful, simple as that.
