First time today I have seen the Brookers this year and they were very impressive. 2 big games ahead though. Hutts grab was a beauty, Beefy so in control with the lads following instructions to the letter. Makes me feel proud of that young fella.

Another week off for Echunga which will mean 1 game in 5 weeks. Will this help or harm their chances for a Premiership ?

Only Time will Tell I know they still had some out with Injuries on the Weekend 2 of their better players too, so the rest will help some.....

After the weekends results you would expect Kersbrook to come out and turn around the previous weeks loss to Nairne I would say maybe even a 10 Goal win to Kersbrook

I sense a hint of sarcasm - because you can't be serious!

Definitely.

This comp was always going to be a compromised draw as Meadows were meant to play Blackwood 4 times where other clubs didn't have to play them at all, then when Blackwood pulled out it F@#$ed things right up. The HFL had a chance to make it into some sort of fairness from round 3 but didn't.

An experiment that didn't work allowing the Central clubs gold teams in.

Another interesting stat with this comp this year is the very unusual turnaround results. Eg
Rd 14 Nairne 12.6 v Maccy 3.2
1st semi Nairne 0.0 v Maccy 6.9

Rd 5 Kers 1.3 v Hahn 10.11
Rd 14 Kers 7.7 v Hahn 1.2

Rd 3 MtL 7.4 v Nairne 0.1
Rd 12 MtL 1.4 v Nairne 8.3

Rd 8 Hahn 13.15 v Sedan 3.1
Rd 17 Hahn 1.1 v Sedan 7.13

Rd 8 Nairne 6.13 v Kers 0.3
Rd 17 Nairne 1.7 v Kers 7.8

These with only a quick look on my phone. Plenty more unusual ones if you have a decent look.

Given what I had heard and read I think the oval was in reasonable nick. Certainly not great BUT where would have been , maybe Cambrai. Was some good footy played , conditions probably suited Kersbrooks runners more.

Was told today of an all in brawl between Gum & Nairne's senior colts & one of the runners was reported for striking a player. Is this BS or can anyone elaborate. Not a good look for the HFL if true.

Not quite true. The Gumeracha player was struck by a runner whilst being held by an opponent. There was no report.

Was a disgusting act with the gumeracha player being pinned to the ground didn't think runners were allowed to lay hands on players especially that of juniors the incident was brought to the attention of the hfl but doubt anything will happen. Another sign of how gutless the league is

So the runner (who I'm assuming is a parent from Nairne) did strike a Gum player?

People have said they witnessed a strike, others have said that he just held the player down either way for a runner to put his hands on a junior player is disgusting, the mother of the player went and confronted the runner afterwards and had the nairne trainer started yelling in her face. The mother of a nairne player entered the ground during the altercation also, was quite a messy situation the umpires lost control of the game at that point of time. The hfl has to act as this is unacceptable

Don't be going hard at the HFL for this - go at the clubs.... Neither Nairne or Gum Coaches, Assistants or whatever did anything to the young players that were sent off. The players sent to the bench were not disciplined in any way. This is strictly a club problem at U17 level way before it gets to the HFL. What did you want the umps to do?? They held up yellow cards and blew their whistles which is all they are entitled to do. This is a reflection of the attitudes of the 16-17 year old kids now and if the clubs accept this from their own kids there is not much else the HFL can do about it once the brawl starts.

thank you. some sense at last. and while we're at it, what action have the clubs taken towards the parents of players who enter the field when things go off. but it's much easier to blame the hfl or the umpires. about time clubs took some ownership here.

Agreed. All clubs are very aware that they can issue club reports against opposition players/officials and the matter will be heard in front of a non-biased panel on Wednesday nights. If you don't understand the process don't come on here to blame the HFL.
