Will be trouble if this is the case but the future of a club should not be on the head of one man. As Scottroo has said in the following post about players leaving, I don't think you could expect any different if Lallard isn't there but it seems some of these have been disappointments anyway compared to the ability they have.

odb, its been the same with maccy for a few years, always had the abilty or potential, but couldnt put the score on the board. is it just the culture there???
where to now? maccy have spent some decent dollars since lallard has been there, for no result. as said, you would think all the imports would be looking elsewhere. it will leave the club in a very unhealthy state. even more than it is now!!
you better come out of retirement!

Can someone shed some (more) light. ODB, get out of the Nelson Tavern and tell us what is going on.

I did pick Nairne to miss the finals (page 1 of this topic), so their plight doesn't surprise me.
Wishiwas, as I said in an earlier post I have been only able to see 2 games this year for various reasons but I'll say that I wish Lallard had come to the club in 2000. We had a core group of decent local players then and if we had been able to recruit anyone, I have no doubt we would have played finals football.
An unfortunate situation at the moment where there is very little involvement playerwise from Macclesfield people and the recruits that they have bought to the club have still only just got the numbers out onto the park.
Do have faith that the club will go alright with Craig as coach but if he decides to give it away, I can see the club folding within the next 5 years and I really don't like to say that but unfortunately as I have touched on many times before, Macclesfield is turning into a Clarendon like town, so this is almost inevitable.

Just thought I'd regurgitate this post for you wishiwas.
Probably is partly a culture thing but in my time it was also a lack of depth and an inability to recruit players. Was the attitude of the club in '98 for example that cost us Ben Semple (and in some part his brother Glen as well - still playing A's for Strathalbyn) to Happy Valley. Know there was some people who were sure he was going to struggle but he walked away with two A grade flags for the Vikings and his exemplary training (lead by example type) attitude was lost forever to the club.
For another example, there was one player (sure that people will know who I'm talking about and it will get back but to be honest I couldn't care less) who wound up a 20 year involvement with the club in the last year and was feted like some sort of great clubman but in reality it was a guy with immense talent who never committed to training properly and never got anywhere near the best of his ability but he wasn't the only one and to me though this hits the nail on the head because you've got guys who were half arsed being looked upon as almost legends of the club, whereas if they'd been at Echunga for example, they would have been made to pull their head in.
Hasn't been a large core group of locals representing the club since the early '80's and if it hadn't been for a huge influx of colts from Mt Barker in the early '90's, who knows where the club may be now.

I'm with you Indian Richards would have to be one of the first picked. Has to be a leading contender for the MM

Appears to be a Mt Lofty team with a few extras. I know they are on top of the comp but only on percentage so would have thought a few more from Uraidla and Onkas may have got a jumper noting also that no one from Blackwood or Bridgewater got a mention. Makes for good forum talk thou Inside 50.

Onkas too classy for Thunderers as expected. Shee, Kerber and Klun dominated the game. Ah but the B Grade won so you'd be happy with that Winger. Story goes that I might have to get the boots out of the closet to front up on the pine for the A Grade next week. Would I be the only one playing with screw ins ? Hope the courier photographer is in attendance.

Mt Lofty beat Lobey in a close one, Uri beat Barker, Onkas over Ironbank and Hahndorf won over Bridgewater.

Come on Indian you know all teams need receivers but I think you hit a nerve with Inside 50.

Could he possibly play on the wing in the Red and White colours I ask ??

What about you Winger, did you get a few HBG in your game yesterday. Unfortunately I missed the Junior Colts action !!!!

Thunder, that could explain why the team of the year that he posted was infested with lofty devil players, no disrepect to most of them, majority are gun players and have earnt their spot, i only have my doubts about a couple of them. Anyway, finals is around the corner and thats when the cream rises to the top, no easy kicks in finals footy. Bring on September!!

Winger would be reffering to the position on a field not the way a player plays.
Things are getting a little willing on here aren't they. Not sure what brought on that shot. Or the shot about the junior colts for that matter.

And as for the b's i do agree with you now Thunder. Has become a lil rediculous. So sounds like you were at the game. Young Thunderers team has been competitve of late and giving teams a run. how did u see the game on the weekend?

Indian.. who are these ex marion players at maccy u talk of? quality?

cheers guys

Winger yes I did watch the game funny enough. Just like most of the games this year IB have struggled to kick a winning score. The loss of Brad Smith was bigger than most people at the club are prepared to admit. The youngsters once again performed admirably but I have no doubt they are looking forward to the end of the season. On the upside is that they have all once again had a taste of the big league and will be better players next season espicially if help is on its way with quality recruits.

Most Hills teams have three or four very good players who bring others into the game, IB don't have any and as such it tells in the long run as evident from recent results. Hold the opposition up to half time but then get run over on the scoreboard. Ordinary teams can only withstand a certain amount of pressure.

As for the performance of the "recruits" to the club I would say only two have been worthwhile but does not equate to the loss of Russell and Smith x 2.

As for the B Grade I am over it.

Guys .. while you have submitted team of the year, there is an omission of coach. So who would be under the microscope. Does Nathan Grainger come into calculations, while Steve Symonds have done a tremendous job with Loby. Or even Barrie Schoell or the reigning premiership mentor, Scott Sutherland. Such riches to select from! Did have a squizz at Lobethal on Saturday, very impressive, may be a traversty if they miss out. Cook played well, Ledge just runs all day, and Jake, quick hands, but did get found out with pace on warm day. Maybe a little unlucky not to pip the Devils, who may well have been focusing for the match v Uraidla. Only drawback for Loby is playing the 'sniper' in the defence. Interesting that he did get a big dose of 'just desserts'. Apparrently long memories at Devil Park!

Winger, dont think there are too many big names amongst the marion boys at Maccy, although lallard still goes alright should he look at playin next year. A couple of their bigger names might head back to their old clubs, ie McIntyre( lonsdale) and Justin Creek ( mitcham/reynella).
Are the thunders likely to lose any of this years squad? Probably only regain Matt Smith for next year, The club would surely give ex another roll of the dice yeah??
