Seen him once, looked pretty good. Have noticed he has been best for them in the last 2 weeks. But they got smashed so hard to call. But would think he has been going ok for them. Played chb when I seen him.

This one might just come back to bite Hahndorf come finals time. How good is this, were approaching the half way mark and the Top 5 still wide open to 6 maybe even 7 clubs if onkas can get back on the winners list. 2008 is turning out to be a ripper season.

B Grade comp looking good too!

Well guys, looking at the competition from O/S, it looks as though it is great for the league that all these teams are in for a real chance.

Its a great spectacle to watch knowing the game could go either way, and despite some of the results, it looks as though on their day, 5-6 teams can step up and win a big game.

Can anyone fill me in on their respective clubs on who they think has been there top few players, and also who (young or old) has stepped up and improved from the last few years.

Unfortunately, being in the middle east, I do see scores, but not best players. More importantly, its always good to know what players are now stepping up and playing good footy in the A's whether they came up from the B's or the 17's. Thats another great aspect of footy, watching kids improve.

Cheers guys

Trigger i would say from an ironbank point of view from last weekend being 6 down at q time it was a massive kick in the ass 4 the boys and they all banded together to get the team over the line . the big upside for us this year is having 2 to 3 real ruckmen in billings ,cocky and stevo to throw through the middle at any time and this gives us more flexibility through the forward and backline . would have to say without playing the goats yet that blackwood is the team to beat atm .but the showdown is this weekend so will post some more after that ......bring on sat :D :D :D

All I am saying is I apologise to the B grade for our selection policy that requires players who haven't been training to play at least one game in the Supers.

I heard there was a controversial finish to the Ironbank v Hahndorf game Saturday. With only seconds left and Hahndorf 3 points up, an Ironbank player received a free kick about 65 metres from goal. Hahndorf player Tim Nicholas had the ball and was then pinged for time wasting by the HFL's worst umpire Kym Graham who apparently was 60 metres away whereas the other officiating umpire was standing about 3 metres from Nicholas. A 50 metre penalty was awarded, Nicholas answered back and was sent off by Graham who by this time had run down and Ironbank kicked the goal thus giving them victory by 3 points. Not the first time this season that Graham has been involved in a controversial incident like this. Honestly dont reckon I've seen a worse umpire than this bloke.

I wasnt at the game. This is only what I heard from another HFL umpire who also wasnt at the game so there may be parts above that are incorrect but can anyone who was there shed any light on the incident?

LOL contraversial finish??? that incident was in the 3rd quarter & if anybody at Hahndorf is looking to blame then it should rest on the ruckmans shoulders completely... he must have held onto the ball for what seemed an eternity when only 10 metres away from the umpire, who at the time was clearly instructing him to pass the ball to the IB player that was awarded the mark (or free - cant remember).

Not sure if he struggles with hearing difficulty or does not understand simple hand gestures but it seemed everybody on the premises knew he had to give the ball back & who to, but he stared at the umpire the whole time & just held onto it.

Warranted 50m for sure... from memory at this stage IB were still well & truly behind by 4-5 goals

Thanks for clarifying that 2O2S. As I said wasn't at the game and heard it from someone else. Nicholas isn't the sharpest tool in the shed it must be said.

Ironbanks. Just implying that saturdays team may not necessarily be a true indication of our regular team.

Kym Graham is not the worst, he's just arrogant and likes to 'exert his authority' over the players.

If you asked any Hahndorf player I'd think they had more issues with the other ump.

There is a great divide between the best of them (The Real TM) and the worst of them (The young TM). Mind you, the gap has reduced between the rest of them and the Real TM with the better standard of umpiring this year.

think gts is just saying that there is a quality player who has done very in the a grade coming back to the devs this year and will be coming thru the b grade.
devs are starting to look very good at moment with a bit of depth back into the club after a few injuries early on.
there is a bit of competition now for the last few spots in the a grade which is starting to show with improved performances in the b grade. will say that we will need to play well in the b grade against ironbank who look to be playing very well. should be a good game.

I reckon the top 12 or so umpires they have are ok but good luck if you get stuck with one of the bottom few!

Can anyone tell me when or if Bawden is coming back to the Devils, although they hardly need him.

I may have missed this in earlier posts but apparrently there was a nasty behind the play incident where a Hahndorf player had his jaw smashed. Not being at the game I have no idea what has happened? Anyone care to share if there was a report etc for another nasty behind play incident?
