   gold !!
Yes I would have thought the team that currently sits top, undefeated with the greatest percentage would be flag favorites? Champ just works from a different school of logic.

Echunga were sitting in the same position last year before choking in the finals. Surely they won't choke again? Not with the extra allocated points they got.
My point precisely!
Well why didnt you say that ?
By the still waiting for that list of " hard decisions " the HFL have to make( Re Central Div forum )
Also liked the a,b,c etc bullet points. Very professional

Well since Champ is refusing to answer, does anyone else have any suggestions as to what hard decisions the HFL have to make to keep both comps going. Don't just answer with what the problems are, please alsogive your idea on how to fix it. I'm pretty sure that most decisions of changes are done by the clubs though.

Well since I'm being 'sounded' out I'll firstly state a fact that sweet lips found ... err 'gold' - I don't coach anyone in this league or any other.

Not even an idiot would post against his/her team and knowing the real Echunga coach I'm pretty certain he's a bit too proud to do so.

Secondly if you both scroll MILEs back you'll find the asnwers to the questions you seek, stop being lazy and re-look at old posts please gents

All there seems to be on this forum at the moment is people slinging sh!t at each other, and people winging about the points system. Is there any chance we can have an actual intellectual conversation about football? If not, this forum should really be taken down, as it is by no means representing Hills Country Football at the moment.

I'll start and see how we go.

I have only seen 1 game of football this season, and the standard seems to have dropped off a lot, correct me if I'm wrong.
From what I see, Echunga and Kersbrook have come back to the pack, rather than the other sides improving immensely, is this correct or is the bits of football information I'm getting from this site completely false?

I have noticed Echunga have been playing about 3 or 4 guys each week that would not have been in their best 18 in the reserves last year, have those player stepped up or have Echunga lost all of their depth?
What has happened to Birdwood, I see they have lost quit a few players, but the turn around seems astronomical.
Did Kersbrook lose many, or are they just getting a little older and slower?
Are Nairne really good enough to challenge either of these teams come finals time?
Will Meadows get any better as the year goes on?
Is there any other real contenders?
Who is playing good footy? Any tips for the Mail medal?

Correct about it shouldn't get personal citycoaster. Apologies to Champ for getting personal but I took offence to you thinking I was on the HFL Board.
Disagree with citycoaster that we shouldn't discuss these issues here as everyone's opinion is vital for the health of footy in the HFL even if we are at opposite ends of the scale.

Again apologies for targeting you. Went back through the posts & I still think its the clubs that will change things that you suggest, not the HFL Board.
A 3rd division that was suggested for Gum, Maccy, Sedan, Callington & Milang would probably mean the death of all but Milang who are happy with where they're at in C grade.
Capping junior numbers & trying to force kids to play elsewhere wont work, I have explained why in previous posts. I suggest 3 year age gaps for country div & clubs make there focus filling S/C & J/C teams.

No worries legend, not like I'm sitting here stressing over peoples posts - to be honest when i get time to check in i have a little laugh at people getting so uptight.

Anyway, some good points all round I think however if only the country div has a three year age gap would this make it difficult for kids switching clubs? Or maybe (just maybe) if the central was made to be say 13/15/17 and the country was made to be under 15/18 would this then provide an avenue for kids not ready to move up into the next grade? In doing so potentially boost country junior numbers?
Something has to be done surely; there's kids paying full fees in the country div and only playing half the games due to club and team numbers. Lets not forget these kids are the life line to country clubs senior football teams.
One thing is for sure, the HFL have to make the hard decisions on topics such as this as there is not one answer/solution that will make everyone happy. Yes, I believe kids will continueto be lost from footy which in turn will make life tough for senior football.

What has happened to Birdwood, I see they have lost quit a few players, but the turn around seems astronomical. (same as echunga)
Did Kersbrook lose many, or are they just getting a little older and slower? (lost little to none, sleeping giant)
Are Nairne really good enough to challenge either of these teams come finals time? (definitiely)
Will Meadows get any better as the year goes on? (no, need to spend more time on football and less on complaining)
Is there any other real contenders? (you've arelady answered this however add Nairne)
Who is playing good footy? Any tips for the Mail medal? (Miller and Carey

You've seen one game yet have managed to judge the entire comp; bit unfair and the information on the site is not exactly the measure of accuracy. Anyone I will try and respond my thoughts from the 8 games I've seen; see above in brackets. Don't mean to sound abrupt but typing quickly is all

By no means judging the entire comp Champ, just asking questions and adding my obervations from score sheets and results, as well as yes, only the one game i have seen and what i get from here. Thank you for your feedback and information.
So going by yoour response though, the comp standard has dropped off? If Echunga and Birdwood have lost almost a team each, and Echunga are undefeated at teh half way mark, Birdwood are still in the 5, it must have yeah?

Echunga and Kersbrook in the A's I think are very similar to last year but their B's have dropped, it will be interesting to see what happens if they get some injuries. Birdwood have dropped in both senior grades which is reflected on the scoreboard, while Nairne and Meadows have improved in both grades. It will be interesting to see how far they can go, it might come down to how much depth each club has.

kersbrook Havnt played one game this year with a full team they would still have more than half a dozen players from last year's side to come back in

Looked like they had the full deck today against Echunga who were missing at least 4....
Varly dramatic turnaround, 19 goals from quarter time?
The demons batted better than I picked so I'm happy to stand corrected on my previous post!

Must have been inspiring stuff. Sitting Top, undefeated, smashing anyone and everyone, that points trick at the start of the season is playing right into Champ's hands as he leads the Demons to the 2013 flag. Redemption for last years fiasco will be completed by the end of the season for Champ and his team of many points. Congratulations Champ :)
