Just did some googling and between 84 and 87 they were part of the Southern Districts Football Association

Close but not quite, in the years 1984 to 1987, Maccy played in Division 2 of the Southern Football League.

I know a few happy kersbrook locals that let Birdwood know about it too. Pretty crazy result, especially for a fierce rivalry match with local bragging rights on the line. And for the record there's only one, and will only ever be one, Cally Eagles! Ha

Would probably have to go back to the late 80s for a more inept Birdwood performance against Kersbrook. Yes there was plenty of voice at the ground with the 93 premiership reunion on, where the Brookers beat the Roosters by a point in the A grade GF.

At this stage of the season who actually can win the flag? And who has enough points to pick up any players or player that would help them achieve this goal?

I thought the team you coach Champ would have to be odds on after being undefeated at the half way point of the season.

That is correct for most part but we also played '88 season in Southern League as well and I mainly remember this because one of my childhood idols Darren Pope - who had only just turned 15 - played his first A grade game in the last round of that season at Maccy against Cove.

Yes I would have thought the team that currently sits top, undefeated with the greatest percentage would be flag favorites? Champ just works from a different school of logic.

Echunga were sitting in the same position last year before choking in the finals. Surely they won't choke again? Not with the extra allocated points they got.

Yes is true. Dylan Caldwell dropped a player then slapped the red card out of the umpires hand
