kersbrook beat bridgy by a couple of goals. was honestly a pretty hard game of footy to watch. pretty bad skills all over. bridgy had a few gridiron players playing so they were certainly some big boys out there. none as big as the kersbrook FF think his name is nick johns (plays cricket for woodside) he had a home made guernsey on. good times. ha!

was there for the end of the other game but cant think who won (think hahndorf beat barker).. but this game was a much better standard. had the like of dennis raymand and 'bots' houlihan playing.
VOTE1 Tom Maslin for the seat of MAYO!!

Interesting to see the Brooker's Super Cs win, as they were rounding them out the pub to play on Sunday.....Yeah wouldn't think there would be anyone as Big as Nick 'Slim' Johns in Hills Football. Surprisingly doesn't move too badly for a Big Fella, and does have great skills and a good football brain. Just like most big blokes, lacks a bit of stamina.

Hahndorf won by 16pts and it did seem a 1/2 decent standard compared to the second game, Hahndorf and mounts teams seemed alot younger than bridgy and Kersbrook.

Well clearly the new points system has done alot to even up the comp this year.....It is an absolute joke that teams can be getting pumped by close to thirty goals week in week out.....

How can anyone even be bothered when you pretty much know who's playing finals before a ball has even been bounced. Hills hierachy are a disgrace if they don't do something soon to even up the comp. zzzzzzzzzzz

P.S. Hope Steve Feijen is on the road to recovery with those injuries, absolute quality bloke....

Boozehound, generally when a points system is introduced it takes a few years to even things out. Teams who have dominated the previous year and held onto their players will once again do well but over the next 3-5 years those players will either move on or retire and then it comes back to how well you bring through your young locals.
If the Hills have only just introduced it this year you will still see teams struggle as the bottom teams from last year will be restricted to adding only a few new players each year.

It isn't the best scenario to be having big losses consistently throughout the league, but the finals has only 5 teams and there are 7 who are genuine contenders. should make for some interesting scenarios come rounds 16, 17, 18. finals last year were not settled until the final couple of games.

In my opinion one of those two teams to miss the finals will be Onka valley! if you look at the draw they have one of the toughest going having Ironbank, Hahndorf and Mt Lofty in the first three which now looks like leaving them 0 and 3 come round 4! if this is in fact the case and they lose 2 or 3 of these, in the second round i believe this will make a huge difference and see them miss the top 5!

Birdwood were pitiful on the weekend, yes they were outclassed by Mt Lofty, of course they were, the Mount Lofty players are much more skillfull, classy players than their Birdwood opponents. But it doesn't require class to man-up and chase your player. Most of the Birdwood guys gave up in IMO.

C grade, what a great fun competition for wanna be's and has been's. I was at Balhannah on Sunday and it was pure entertainment. Just wondering how many playing in the C grade comp train regularly? Uraidla has about 6 and then few more who just have a bit of a kick and a catch every now and again.

boozehound sides who have good recruiting people and have the CONTACTS will always be able to put a good side on the park whatever the points system. If you can't produce your own 2-3 juniors every year you will always be pushin s**t up hill

All of Ironbanks side train atleast once a week, work permitting, many of them twice a week. That is why they won't let the premiership slip this year.

Fair effort by Ironbank. I remember when their 'A' grade competed in the Hills 'C' grade comp some 20 years ago. They started from the bottom and worked their way up. If memory serves me correctly, I reckon Peter Motley's brother was out having a kick and a catch for them in their early days.

I can remember out at training when Brett Motley first came out he had a massive leg and probably has kicked further than anyone else on Thunder park, kick to kick had one side in the car park. Although one goal from the Hahndorf No 5 (Wagnitz) in recent times would go close.
