Whether they are all on that but sammy mahoney wouldnt be up there for anything less than that amount. Ewer wouldnt either so lets not be coy and try dodge the issue. Good on Jervois they pay well and theyve gotten the results.
I know for a fact a full forward a few years ago was offered 6-700 a game to play up there.
Once again tho, they buy these guys in and theyve stayed which in my book is good recruiting, lets hope the cash doesnt run out tho as the travel and lack of money will see most of them move on when it does.

Well said BJ, the dutchman and hills seem to be going into defensive mode.
Im not baggin the bluds either, they recruit well, they spend a packet but they also keep their recruits which is a battle in itself.
Don't be suprised if a couple of names go missing though, after a gf win players are all about the club and staying together etc but summers are long and hot so best wait till round one.
Dutchy, Hills dont scoff at the coin being bantered, some of it is on the money. T Rigney 400 a game for example and still is not the highest paid player at your club.

Footymad just cos Trev didnt take you 400 a game doesnt mean he is on it at Jervois!

I think Hills might be the most qualified person to speak about Trev boys. You are way off the mark Footymad and with suggesting other players getting more than that...

Love to know who this full forward was that was offered $600-700 a game. Are there any full fowards going around that are worth that? The last full forward of note for the Bluds that was not a local should be back in 2013 :)

Mole - not sure how you claim to be mates with the Jervois boys, then continue to get on the forum and find ways to put shit on the club and its players? Are you just on here to stir the pot?

Im not going to drop his name but i can assure you its true.
Ur very defensive on the whole issue and theres no need to be.
If blokes have a stab at Jervois just laugh it off, its jealousy at the success. You wouldnt have won 4 in a row without these guys coming up. Also players like Big Ron Hill wouldnt have become the player he is today without these guys playing there.

Is the full forward being referred to someone who actually played at Jervois or was just offered big money but didn't sign. The last big profile Jervois full forward I'd say would have been the guy in 2004 who trained pre season with West Adelaide, but then signed with the Bluds, he'd played in the Geelong league before, he only stayed at Jervois one year but was very impressive. Cant remember his name, but he certainly was a standout that season, think he kicked over 100 goals. He certainly wouldn't have played for peanuts but would have been worth his $$'s.

One story I've heard in relation to Jervois' recruitiing was that one of their players who signed in 2004 approached another RMFL club asking for $300 or $350 but was knocked back, and then apparently he signed for Jervois for $100 or so more than he was asking for at the other club

Interesting GWW...can you give us any more information?
Is this player still on the Bluds list? Good on him if thats true.
If he was getting $100 more than $300-$350 then he was on a fair wicket for an unwanted player.
