Surely you are not serious about SANFL clubs interested in bay coach Lindsay Bassani!

Well there you go! Might be a different story if he cant get the Bays in to the GSFL finals. For the amount of recruits they have got they should have been a certainty. Why do people speak so poorly of him, especilly on safooty.net?

Luvs footy your posts are dubious at best, you talk of the amount of recruits the bays have but how about you have a look at the amount and quality of players that left the Bays at the end of 06 before opening your yap.

24 clearances in and 9 out. That to me suggests that a fair bit of recruiting was done. They are a good side at best and terrible at worst. Why the massive inconsistencies? Can the coach take some blame for this?

i dont think those facts are quite right luvsfooty and the players that have gone to the club are not all recruited players but players playing in the B grade for a bit of fun. the quality recruited players to replace the quality recruited players lost are about the same.

Finally someone with some actual facts here BW, thank god for you mate.
Those numbers are way off, on top of that 7 of the supposed 20 odd players recruited never played a game for points LF.

Using my half pea brain I would say that any side that loses the amount of quality players the Bays did would be inconsistant especially when all in charge at the Bay viewed 2007 as a rebuilding year whilst 80% of its squad are actually under 21. As for blaming coaches, I think that all coaches blame themselves for poor performances but I reckon the bays would rather be a good side at best than one that's written off before the season starts.

LF you seem to be everyones biggest critic yet you cant seem to get your own club in order, your mob have been operating without a liquor license for months - thats a pretty basic necessity for a footy club champ. Let me guess you have been concentrating on your on-field performances.... Maybe you can recruit bassani next year so you can stop posting seemingly green eyed stories.

To lose Rolfe (best CHF if not player in the comp), Mclean, Hough, Jagodnik, Smart. they were probably the best 5 players at EB last year bar none. so to replce that was impossible so to even make the finals this year is a huge effort. provided they win this week. i cant work out which bays side will show up so im not going to tip with them or against them.
whoever wins out of EB and myponga will have deserved there spot in the 5.

I was wrong Bays actually had 25 clearances in this year! The argument is not about how many players EB have gained or lost, the argument is in regards to the Bay coach been wanted by SANFL clubs! In my opinion (which is only my opinion) he is not the greatest coach! And for Footy Mad to have a go about Strath's rough house tactics maybe you should look in your own backyard. You may remember a Bay player (who I wont name on this site), cleaned up and broke the jaw of Hayden McKinlay just recently. Anyway enough of the politics, come to the Saints footy club for a beer tonight. The liquor licence was a misunderstanding by the liquor and licenecing commission and all is soughted.

Honestly, Who gives a Rats Toss Bag about the Mail Medal????.
Footballs a TEAM Game, Always has been, Always will be.
Footballs all about the TEAMS ACHIEVMENTS not the INDIVIDUALS.

And also, Get off the umpires Backs, They've got enough on the Minds trying to interpret all these Stupid law/rule changes/interpretations let alone vote on who the Best players are.

Mate decide what your argument is then post! Who gives a rats about the Bays coach and the SANFL rumours, oh wait - you do. Your not getting green eyed again are you LF?
BTW - I believe it was McKinlays dad after the game stated openly that he saw the incident and it was completely fair?

JJ this is an open forum, meaning open for discussion. The Mail Medal is a very prestigous honour for any bloke and it highlights his committment to his club and to the sport for that given year, should this years mail medalist come from my club I would be over the moon and proud as punch for him. Since footballs a team game each team member should be equally as happy for their team mate if he were to win a medal of this honour.
Umpires have been around since the game started, if the game is getting naturally faster through evolution why cant the umpires? League medals have in most cases also been around as long as umpires, its not a new concept so it shouldnt be hard to pick the player you see do special things or who is around the ball repeatedly or god for bid who is the loudest (positive talk), after all the umpires are supposed to be the ones watching the game, they are out there in the middle and where the ball is!

Clearly you guys can play footy when you want but Im also going with your previous point about the lads being gee'd up for the game.
Compass are also a funny side, play a lot on confidence and have lost to Yank recently, I said 24 pts but I think deep down they may thump you by around 10 goals mate.
Keep williams under pressure, he had his kicking boots on last week but struggles to find targets normally with his foot - still gets plenty of it though.

As silly as its sounds, we probably trained the best we have all year last night and apart from the first 2 rounds we are fielding one of our better sides on paper.
