I believe the severity of the injury should be taken into account with this one wonder. Steves season is over due to the spineless act of a sniper, so the question is why should he be back playing when the bloke he hit cannot. Rub him out I say if Barry Hall is gonna get 8 and Staker has no facial breaks well Steve has 3 fractures so do the math on that. As far as retalliation there was a bit of niggle all day and we did try and stitch him up late in the game but didnt quite get it right. Rest assure though if this bloke is playing next time you dont do that to a team mate and expect to get away with it. Few raider boys were dirty Saturday night.

I'd still follow some prior advice and submit a police report. At the very least inconvenience the coward, run him through the mill and he may get a conviction against his name. Remember a country div player not so long ago had a Hills suspension dropped after a nasty incident. The other thing to keep in mind is "Victims of Crime". By the sounds of it the victim in this case has some pretty serious injuries which may affect him in a variety of ways. The victim should be entitled to compensation particularly for his injuries as well as loss of wages, this may also affect his day to day life from this point on. Go to the POLICE and make this coward accountable for his actions.

Hopefully no on filed retaliation is possible for the raider boys because this bloke should still be supspended by round 10. Footy is a dangerous past-time even when played in the best spirits, I have missed weeks of work in the past due to an accidental injury caused by opposition player- no drama's there, it was just bad luck. But if some dirty prick intentionally snipered me behind the play causing me to be off from work (jeoprodising career, income, mortgage, family etc (yet alone footy) I would want him screwed over to the full extent of the law. Why do I get the feeling the HFL will drop the ball again though? I hope I'm wrong

DM I agree with you, but I think we should give the HFL a fair go.... with the evidence apperently very clear on the video I think they will be able to make a suitable judgement and penalty....... For what it is worth if Steve is really going to miss the rest of the season with the injury sustained then the offending player should be out for at the very least half of that and I personally would think many more. These incidents can only be curbed if players, coaches and clubs know that the penalty is 10 or more weeks

Heard whispers Saturday though that these two may be back playing in the not to distant future. Game was scrappy and in the end I thought the result flattered Lofty a bit. Uraidla should have won by a lot more.

Lofty struggled up forward all day and don't have anyone up forward capable of kicking a bag. Fleet lined up at Full Forward and was smashed. The guy looked way out of his depth and didn't even provide a contest.

Also heard on Saturday that Joel Brown has flown the coop from Uraidla and is not playing footy at all this season. Can anyone confirm this?

fleet actually competed very well saturday seeming he broke his nose in first quater. if he had of kicked straight would have had 3 or 4. uri were very good at getting back and blocking the holes which were making it hard to find space to lead to.

Uri's were way to good and lofty lacked hardness with too many young guys, not intimidating team anymore. Fleet and young pistols up forward were both shocking infront of goals, fleet should have had about 4 and pistols had about 10 shots on goal and didnyt get close. also had nobody that could go with cox he was a matchwinner with strong marking. lofty wont make the grand final this year im tipping it now

fairly big call considering around the same amount of scoring shots. agree though cox was good and need to convert more EASY (as a lot of them were) shots on goal.

what night is the tribunal hearing for the blackwood bloke?? anyone from blackwood on here with anything to say about it??

Tribunal is wednesday nights.

Saw Hahndorf on Saturday and they were really impressive. Their midfield is insane, Cooper is all class but Nicholas was BOG for mine. Fed his midfield all day with perfect taps, hard to see any ruckman in the league getting close to him. I expect the Dorf to be right up there this year if they can keep their side injury free.

With Nicholas winning every tap in the air, the midfield becomes stronger again! We had that last year with woody, Flogger Cuts and myself in the middle, we knew we could beat anyone cos big billy bauden would win every tap and put it down your throats.

Hahndorf, keeping everyone fit, will go very close this year. footy is a funny game though with injuries. Will see how it all pans out throughout the year. All in all, with some improver's this year, it will great to hear all the results!

How did the ex RMFL guys go with Ironbank on the weekend? I noticed Muffy kicked a couple of goals, but not named in best players, but Weldelborn named in the best. No goals for Graetz. Did any of them look in good form?

GWW Muffy looks better this year been out to a trial and looks faster and more evasive than last year hopefully a good year to come. Graetz is playing fullback at the moment and did a very good job first on Norton then a Smith he played there a few times at the end of last season and with our new BIG recruits we do not necessarily need him up forward. Wendels played very well and will be a big asset this year we will not need him to fill in every tall gap as he has had to do over the last couple of years. He did go back to Shee in the last and was very effective to help with the win. The one I am worried about, was the best last year but looks to have found a very good paddock over summer.

A New C grade draw is out (from blackwoodfc.com)

Round 1 Sun 20/4
Balhannah
1 12.30pm Onkas v Mt Lofty
'' 2 2.00pm I/Bank v Nairne/B
'' 3 3.30pm Uraidla D v Blackwood
Mt Barker 4 1.30pm Hahndorf v Mt Barker
" 5 3.00pm Kersbrook v Bridgewater

With 10 teams, everyone plays each other once.
I wonder how finals will work now. 1 Vs 4, 2 Vs 3? Winners play GF?
