So where does this leave Loby's B Grade?
Should be a good comp, any idea of any fixtures?? Does it start this Sunday?

How did the new boys go Newman? Wasn't one of them that got hit was it?
I don't think some players realise how serious hitting a bloke behind play like that is. It can be fatal as we have seen across different incidents and can lead to blokes being arrested and convisted of a very serious crime. Is it just a case of stupidity or white line fever???

Walshy didnt play mate as well of a few more of Raiders first choice players. I would expect that this incident would go further like I said the video footage is as clear as anything and the resulting injury that occurred can not be ignored.

I know someone who saw Feijen yesterday and apparently his face is a mess. There will definetly be a lot more to come on this incident, hopefully the Blackwood sniper is hit with a massive ban

Absolutely Bazz the poor bloke requires an op which would severely impact on his work and in turn his hip pocket. Like I said a minimum of 10 would be suitable for this mongrel and I believe it should be taken further also.

Lobey politely told Kersbrook 'Thanks but No Thanks' for the extra players as they feel they've got enough to get them through the season.

'C' grade does start this Sunday, and the HFL are amending the draw for the 50th time early this week.

Hills League should introduce the same policy as the Amateur League, any more than 12 wks suspension ( which this sounds like what he deserves ) you get deregistered & fu*#ed off out the comp.
THUGGERY like this is not tolerated in our great game, its time all Leagues made a stance.
Hope the lad recovers well & take the THUG to court.

Do we know the name of this thug? Surely he can be named and shamed on here... we don't need this crap in the Hills League. I'm sure if we use the word "allegedly" for the sake of protecting the presumed innocent, naming the coward wouldn't be an issue.

Will the HFL tribunual now accept video footage of incidents? In the past they wouldn't as I understand it. Footage should definitely be made available to a decision.

My advice (coming from someone who has taken an incident further before) is that these incidents should be followed up with a police report in the following few days. Must have a few solid witnesses (video footage would be super) all with similar story to tell who will be interviewed by police. Make the police report now and then you can choose not to act on it later (and don't let the cops at the fron desk fob you off - they are not the brightest sparks and haven't studied law). In court there is no difference between an off-the-ball hit compared to a hit in the street.

I'd also keep that footage relatively private until the blokes makes a decision to take it further or not.

Gimp.... I agree with you..... How Rob Wyld is able to umpire at Hahndorf games as a Hills appointed umpire not a club supplied ump is beyond me.... It will give the Hahndorf Bs a huge advantage over any visiting teams... it will be interesting to hear others thoughts as the season goes on if it is allowed to continue

I agree completely that the HFL this year needs to take a stand and prove apoint when dealing with behind the play snipers. There is no room in our game for this sort of behaviour and its only ever one or two players which sour the whole game. The HFL is a tough league but that comes from players hitting the ball hard and not cheap shots on players.
Its only a matter of time till one of these grown men(idiots) who are generally big units, hits a 17 18 yr old player behind the play and does some serious damage. Sounds as if this happened on the weekend

As for the IB game.. What a cracker! Gr8 contest between two teams who are making a habit of having close finishes. Didnt think the umpiring was too bad because although they were fairly hot on the in the back atleast they were consistent with it and so the standard was clear and set early. Great to see the hill back in action and pumping out some ripper comments.

So im guessing the C grade will be played at multiple ovals on the one day now

If this thing goes to court the video that was taken will be sufficient enough that witnesses wont be needed. Bazz your spot on with the name it was Silvy.

wow what an action packed day on here this bloke from blackwood should have the book throwen at him does anyone know if the umpires on the day layed a report ?
10 team c grade sounds good just a bit worried some of these late commers will struggle to field sides later in the year when it gets cold and wet and a few injuries come in to play ?
