I would ask any of you who knock Ironbank's facilities to tell us if your club owns their facilities. All facilities with the exception of the Cricket nets and tennis/netball courts have been paid for by the football club. We have never received any council assistance with the exception of govt grants when the libs needed to win an election. We even pay the council to maintain the oval. I'd love to see a double-storey brick building (like a small version of Lofty's) but it ain't gonna happen when we don't have a gov't body to build it for us.

As for the away changerooms, find me any better in the Hills Central. It may be a tin shed on the outside but you won't find bigger or with better showers. Mind you, some privacy in the showers would help and players should refrain from doing a no. 2 in the toilet or it'll be at the expense of their team mates health. Country div clearly has the better changerooms IMO.

Are there any other HFL clubs that own their oval and facilites or through a recreation ground body like us?

Nairne changerooms/clubrooms where built & paid for by the footy club..its is only in recent years that the council/grants have helped with more facitities.

Is it true that the Ironbank away rooms use to be shared by both teams with a mouldy curtain separating the two teams?

Bit touchy?? Thought it was a well measured response with reasons in reply to your straight up slag on the club.

As far as the oval i think 5 or 6 weeks ago it wasnt looking too flash but its looking good now and the outer wing is actually perfect so shouldnt be any worries. The oval is of course small and thats what the renmark boys were referring too but i dont think the watering will make the oval bigger so how bout we jst deal with it. Seems like the same argument comes up every year. A few away rooms in the hills are terrible .... just the way things go. Onkas Mt Barker you cant fit 21 players in where as they change in mansions.

Should get tipping comp going on here for the hfl... keep a running total of everyones

With tips, ill give you one big tip!! Lobethal are on the brink of one of the worse years in clubs history!! maybe forfeiting "b" grade games. A grade wont win a game...

Heard a rumour that Kersbrook and Bridgewater now want in on the C Grade competition. That would take it to 10 teams! Apparently the HFL arent too happy with all the late expressions of interest.

i would say the away rooms at mt ronnie would be the worst going around with possibly hahndorf and lobey the best .
tips 4 round 1
lofty just over uris
hahndorf it will be interesting to see who plays for them eg.cooper, kasler or nichols...heard that cooper is not fit
ironbank in another tight one will be good to see the recruits all playing together :D
barker over lobey easy
blackwood easy again interst in this game to see how bridgy go will they be better than the last few seasons
good luck all cant wait for the footy to start bring it on :D :D :D :D

Help ya quash couple of rumours on the Hills forum......Kersbrook do have a surplus of players from their A and B grade, but their spares are going to play for Lobey's B grade, as the Brookers don't have enough to form a C grade alone. So also wouldn't think, regardless of how bad a year Lobey have, that they won't forfeit their B grade any time soon.

Ironbank by 1 point over Onkas........2 sides developing a really competative rivalry! Fairly scrappy game but with no more than 2 goals in it at any stage and entertaining game to watch.

Also heard Blackwood easily over Shanty and Uris by 40+ over Lofty........not sure how acurate those reports are?

Thoughts:

Loby....as has been well documented, will be hoping 2012 comes around well fast.
Handorf....solid win against last years cellar dwellers. Will be interesting to see how they go against Uris, Devils, Devils C Grade and Onkas
Uris...past 2 GF results reversed, but at the end of the day.....................we've got 2 cups!!!
Devils....shocking kicking for goal.....Mado and Coat Rack for demtion to the A Grade.
Blackwood....   wow. However, same comments as for Handy apply.

Some results from the B Grade would be well received by at least 1 pissed minder on the other side of the planet.

Innit.

B Grade

Handy 13.9 Birdwood 10.9
Goats 15.12 Cabbage 7.3
I/B 12.18 Onkas 5.7
Blackwood 21.16 Shanty 6.8
Mt Ron 15.9 Lobey 4.3

Good win to Ironbank just, good rivalry now between clubs during the match.
Other clubs should look out for the new umpiring director if you get him it seems the rules at Southern are different ot ours very tiggy touchwood. :?
Although same as the first few rounds last season do not put a body part near anyone's back.
DA you would hate it. :(

GTS interesting to see the height and size of both Onka's and Ironbank has increased dramatically this year some big hits and good contests through the game.
Other teams may be a bit surprised when they meet them this year. :o
