Roughly Half way gentlemen-
Anyone care to put forward their thoughts on how season will pan out
Who will play finals-who wont-medallist-

Ill start with Lions taking the spoon from here and Solly to miss out- huge game solly v south this week!!
Port are on top, but Central have not got out of first and will be flag favourites for mine if they are all training and GF in PA
West seem to trouble Port but South seem to have wood on West- Ill go Port runner up
Woolford for the medal, never has a negative comment on field and proven vote winner (and importantly, a very good player :) )

i have heard of no meetings down solomontown way. i think they are pretty happy with were they are at and very happy how the younger group are going.although it will be very hard to keep all the young ones together but if they do the club will be very very strong in the not to distant future. Have also heard that the couple of lads from whyalla will be very handy pickups.

All quiet on here gentlemen, few murmurings from both sollies and south about spats and meetings that 'didnt occur' so well might be worth a trip to Memorial Oval on Sunday for a look at all the fun. Its all on the line for the cats with West likely to beat Lions and if South beat them they will be two games + % behind 4th spot. Edey should play his 2nd and Parker will play his first for the hoops so should be very interesting.
I tip Port West & South.

Well this might be an understatement but Lions are not on the same level as everyone else after huge improvment the last few years

A hard fought win today to put some breathing space between us and the also rans. Not pretty, but got the points coming from behind against the odds in the last quarter.

Adam Grantham looms as an ominous 'in' for us coming into the finals after an impressive return in the Reserves.

No Daniel Brushnahan is brother to Simon who was injured last year.... just as an aside it was interesting to see the coach and a senior player have stern words after the game!

Not many smiles in Pirie today 0/3!!
Superb wins from behind in Pirie for South kicking into wind in last and Central from 5 goal down at ht.
West last round v Lions win with kick after siren- this week 141 points!
Sollies now a long shot for finals with 2 games plus % behind South/West. South have lions twice more so their only chance will be if West really fall in a hole but wont happen I'm afraid.

Having a look at the games to come and with Lions droppong off, I am going to predit that Sollies will play finals football. They play the Lions twice and it will come at the expense of West as they have got Port twice.

Port
Central
South
Sollies
West
Lions
Jacob Neary to win the Madigan from what I've seen this guy is a machine.

Not surprised by Lions, the team is pretty young which have come from dominating the juniors in both 18's and below. Many of them have not faced the pressure of being under the pump, hence them struggling at the moment. Some of the players don't even want to play anymore, the Pine brothers come to mind. There was also a few that left Lions to play in the Northern Areas.

A change of coach is probably needed there.

-------------

Sollies shouldn't make the finals, looking at their team, they still have a number of guys not up to it in the Agrade level, played against some of these guys and they are nothing special. Hopefully next season they can recruit a few more, which will make the club alot better by improving the whole club A's B's and 18's. Not a Sollies man but would like to see them improve as I know a few of them.

-----------

Anyone know how Magor for Ports is going? Played against him when he was at Sollies and didn't think he was much chop, big lad but very slow around the ground.

Dunkley, Whittaker?

There has only been a couple from the Squids, fringe players at best. Except for Treloar but he is exactly like the Lions, he did want to play for them for the last X amount of years............

Burford,Phillips,Puddy,Fleming,Treloar and then some in the Bs. Just making a point Squids that I think there are a number of ex Ports who have played in the Northern Areas Football League in recent years and only one Lion I can think of. We had a few go over a few years back too. Run the Lions down all you want but get your facts right.

just to set the record straight you might want to put Mark Horner's name on the wolves list because he was a willsden/wolves colt from day 1 and has never been associated with centrals (as much as they would like)
