BLG Directors etc. not very happy but neither are Barossa clubs. Barossa, Freeling and Kapunda hold the key. Gawler and Barossa clubs agree to disagree at this stage and will probably vote as blocks on anything from now on. The football public in the Barossa view the whole thing as a Gawler takeover and aren't happy that another community group is being s*** on. Obviously the Gawler clubs view it as Barossa running the comp. My gut feeling is that it will fail by one and season will start with 2 games on 18th and 2 games on 19th. As far as I know PH only one club has a pre set social event and that's your beloved Willaston's '99 reunion which was touted months ago and is based on hosting Ango. As for trial matches scenario the only one disadvantaged would be the team with the first bye. I would think most coaches would try to avoid the week before so as not to risk injury. In some comps (eg APFL) the first bye team isn't allowed to play a trial game!
Jarryd Cole returning is a boost for the comp, I think he could be a dominant player but also wouldn't be surprised if another SANFL club speak to him. I'll miss Vin Cattogio (Ben Spiteri), I like his enthusiasm. Surprising though I thought Wacka was his mentor. Brendan Niklaus a big loss too as his presence stretches the opposition's key defenders. Have emailed a mate in Darwin to see what he knows. Drifter your right about players not coming back to the NTFL after Xmas but usually its because their team is being flogged or they are, but sounds like this bloke didn't go South for the festivities. Tough comp with weather a huge factor. Has anyone heard that they have given the SANFL the flick and are going to have a run in the QAFL.

Big call coming from a Port Magpies supporter! LOL!
Seriously though, in my dealings in and around the BL&G, I've found most blokes are straight up. You don't get too many at all of the type Freeling has just experienced.
On another note, how is Willaston's recruiting going Don? Have heard some outs, but no ins yet.
What about at South Edgar and Tex? A mate there says one of the recruits mentioned in the Herald (Vandenbergh and Broad) hasn't actually signed.

Seems that the barossa clubs will be spewin that they weren't more organised and they didn't communicate with the BLG directors when they should have - 12 months ago.
Assuming the comp revloves around your club is the mistake that angaston has made sunblower and its hilarious to watch you blame everyone else but yourself.
I hope the clubs get behind the BLG directors and support whatever decision they make because our comp doesn't need this crap, we're better than that.

You can add Turrell and Cussadia to Kapunda's outs... that would hurt the bombers!

I think you'll find S Ryan is going around again for the Bombers...
Cussadia is a blow as he was one of the younger brigade Kapunda had, I think they may struggle in the next few years unless they import well and have new players move into the zone...
Taylor has been quoted as leaving, can anyone confirm this???
