Can gulliver suggest a merger for the eagles? Maybe paskeville, then they can be called the paskevillehummockswatchmanptwakey eagles. How would that look at the top of the ladder? Couldnt agree with you more Swampey on the barossa league. The cream of the adelaide plains crop would certainly give them a run for their money. Way to flashy pants.

Nice. I'd sledge your team, but netballers are off limits.

As a player within the BLG and having played against APFL teams in trial games and having watched mates play for Mallala i would say that your top teams would not get close to our top teams...

From my observations most teams in the APFL have 4 or 5 quality players but it falls away pretty quickly after that.

but hey, this is just my 2 cents

Id have to say top team such as Mallala, United and the eagles it would be more like the top class players is more like 13-15 and then it falls away slightly. You cant tell me that Freeling had more than 15 high qulaity players out there on Saturday.

Freeling would have had around 13-15 players with quality SANFL experience...

Leal brothers, Cam Roberts, Brent Frewen, Paris Fowden, Josh Newberry, Haseldine, Simon Riddle, Stuey Lamond, Trav Muster, Ben Parish...all these boys have SANFL experience

There's some pretty big names in that list MacDog. I've played footy with Stuey Lamond and Parish is a quality all round sportsman. Can't say Stuey is all that flash though from what I've experienced (even though he's played with the Roosters if that's right?). He's definately a confidence player like his brother Benny. How has Farls gone this year? Still playing good quality footy?

Yeah Farley goes alright... occasionally i play on him

i guess all im saying is that guys here a having a crack at the standard of footy in the BLG based on one game (the grand final)...maybe watch a few more games before making (perhaps biased) comments!

Yeah, Farls is a very handy player.

Point taken. But you would think the GF should be the best game of the year to watch. That's when blokes should be going flat out.

i know that but the Leal brothers,Brent Frewen, Paris Fowden, Haseldine, Stuey Lamond are all well past thier best which was reflected in the game on saturday. Ben Parish???? who did he play for, he's a different unit. I understand your point though, i would watch more games but unfortunately it doesnt happen. I just thought id have a look at the two top teams in the league in the biggest game of the year and that would give me a fair indication of the standard, but obviously not.

if your basing the standard of our league on thier performance in trial games maybe your priorities are mixed up. Maybe head over and watch our gf in future, i think you will get a rude shock!

Rooster Rooster Rooster...... your not a Port supporter trying to sway the issue of todays pathetic effort in GF are you? Its ok if i was behind the power today, id be mighty pissed off with that piss poor showing in what was supposed to be a game between the best two teams in afl  . The Cats were simply unbelievable in the biggest win in an afl/vfl grand final ever. Id pay good money to see Warren, Choco and Chad shed a tear :D.
