i suppose if they make the country grand final then they can return to central as they desire.

if they win this weekend, they will have to make a choice. bl&g or hfl central.

Are they guaranteed a spot in hfl central if they win this week?
Whats stopping the central sides getting the sooks and refusing to go down?
If I was Birdwood id want a written agreement from the league

answers:
- not 100% guaranteed, but almost. only one team can be promoted, so if they lose the grand final and kersbrook want to go up, then they're stuffed. but, kersbrook are happy in country so just making the grand final should be enough for birdwood.
- central sides have no recourse if relegated. it's in the by-laws.
- no need for a written agreement. see comment above re: by-laws.

Noticed two tables very empty at the Mail Medal last night. Kangarilla and United Eagles. No coaches or players, would have been pretty embarassing if Brett won the medal. Is Gav coaching Kangarilla in 2013?

Despite what a few negative people have posted in the last few days, i really think the HFL is moving in the right direction under the new management. I think over the next few years the HFL will be in top shape.

I don't think that's entirely correct. Someone posted about mid-season that teams needed to nominate for promotion, then if that team makes the GF they have the right to go up. I haven't heard anything about Kersbrook applying.

clubs have until october 31 to nominate for promotion. there is no need to have done it by mid season. you can wait until you make the grand final and then do it.

How did Roughton and Quinn poll votes for Maccy when they are playing with TTG in the saafl this season?

Got to give credit where it's due as early in year I thought Peter Mackie was signed, sealed and delivered to Strathalbyn but he had a change of heart and decided to stay at Maccy and by all reports was one of their more reliable players for the year.
Certainly made me look silly anyway.

With the high probability of Birdwood and Sedan being in another league next year and Callington folding, how many Country clubs are looking at a move to the SFL. There would have to be a few with the likelihood of a 7 team comp and some junior grades looking at a 4-5 team comp. Geographically it would makes sense for the likes of Kangarilla, Meadows, and Echunga. And Maccy and Bridgey (if they get relegated) should at least consider it. You'd be crazy not to look into it that's for sure.

Not sure if your question is a joke or not fisho. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. PM me.

Not a joke mate. I've heard plenty and would like to hear an honest opinion from someone who is not drunk/disgruntled/trolling. Shall do.

Kangy, Meadows and Echunga would need to seriously consider this move. I was told today clubs need to make their decision and be ready to go by October 31st.

So where does this leave Birdwood for 2013? With the talk of other Country clubs leaving this division is in all sorts of trouble.

Would there be a case for change at the top at bird wood next year. Would have to be hard to keep getting close and no lollies. Is current coach still keen?
