Mail Medal is generally held the week of the Grand Final in Country Division, so I believe either next Monday or Wednesday. Most clubs would have recieved invites for players to attend already.

PRELIM WEEKEND!!!

Should be a great day for footy out at Callington this weekend.
A GRADE
Echunga Vs Birdwood - Echunga were pretty average against Kersbrook on the weekend, this happened to them last year as well, and we all know the final result of that (although some people seem to have forgotten and are celebrating 2 weeks 2 early!) I cannot see Birdwood turning around a 10 Goal result from round 18. Echunga by 5 goals.

B GRADE
Meadows Vs Echunga - Meadows have beaten Echunga B grade on all three occasions this year but I see this one being a very close battle, with Echunga getting up by 2 points.

Expect the Impact Coach to return to the HFL if Echunga go straight sets

What have you heard?

If Echunga go straight sets, there will be a crisis there. Expect them to get in contact with the Impact Coach to bail them out

My understanding is that there has been quite a bit of interest in securing the services of the impact coach/umpire for season 2013. Gossip on the road is the RMFL are having an umpires crisis and are thinking of approaching him in hope that he will step into the roll of "Impact umpires coach" as their short term solution.
My suggestion is anyone looking to gain the services of the impact umpire/coach will need to act fast.

Would expect a more inspirational 3/4 time speech from the Impact Coach than the one delivered at Maccy on Saturday .... the language used would have singed the eyebrows of the spectators in the front row of the huddle !

That being said, interested in the forums views on what a coach should focus on to engineer an inspirational come from behind 3/4 time speech (ie should you blast or inspire ? who has delivered the best speech and what was their message ?)

I can see why you go by the handle of "sniper"! Notice you have not suggested what you would have said at 3/4 time!

Who are the addresses for; the fans, rival supporters or the players? I'd like to think that by the time the pointy end of the season comes around a coach knows what he needs to and can say to his players. For example I have no hesitation in berrating players during the short breaks we get at Auskick; I mean seriously if only these kids would listen!
But sniper I take it this is more of a personal jibe at someone so I wont throw any serious response at it other than the vic bitter youtube clip.

Whilst the language of the Echunga coach at quarter time was of simular nature, i dont believe his point was as clear or as direct as the gentleman in the clip.

One of the best from the old days and good thing it is not from our family friendly Hills Football League !

As for keeping the kids attention .... maybe put the game plan on an iPhone, kids just can't get enough of these bloody gadgets now .....

In all seriousness, coaches at all levels have accredition guidelines to follow, which include standards of behaviour that are required to be exhibited (we are not living in the 70's).

I have to say from an outsider looking in and reading what's on the Central Div forum I don't blame Birdwood for looking to move to the BL & G League. On top of that I hear Sedan maybe going and Callington folding or becoming a C grade. Now where does this leave the Country Div?? With just 7 clubs and how much will junior footy suffer?? Meadows and Kangarilla would be wise to move back to the SFL where 2 divs could be created :)
That leaves 5... Interesting times ahead.

It's the $80,000 team (Birdwood) vs the $70,000 team (Echunga) on Saturday. If money has anything to do with it, Birdwood should come out on top :)
