butchard has retired i believe, his back is pretty stuffed. bents also has left but not 100%. they have lost alot of the players from last year like kluzek and co. dont think that tere are to many upset about that. but have picked up a ruckman from strath footy mad that you and jb no from basketball. rumour also is that a couple ex central district reserve players mid 20's possible signed up.

also rumour has it flogga may line up for the devils this year. wife just had a child so he will c how the kid goes before dedicating himself to the devils!

bentley has signed back with hectorville for 2008.

see in this mornings tiser that blackwood are running a coaching clinic this sunday .the seniors are training from 9am with new star recruit jake bowen says hes from sturt can anyone tell me a bit about this guy ? also havnt heard that blackwood have lost anyone so with this star recruit should be a force as well all looking good for a tighter comp this year

From a couple of chats with the Blackwood prez, I got the impression Blackwood would be a touch weaker this year than last. Have no names but the feeling was that there were one or two more departures than recruits.

the only reason there's conflicting stories is cos people who haven't been down to training are going on whats happened in the past and cos lofty snipers love sinking the boot in. bridgewater will be competitive

Played the last couple of season with Jake. Big unit, about 200cm and 100kg. Left footer with close to 50 games of League experience. Can play in the Ruck or key position forward. Should go well in the HFL.

GTS, in the Courier I read it the other way they have only had 42 out to training and do not even have contacts left to fill 4 sides so I expect them to be fielding a C grade this year.

with the Blackwood Country div demise, it's only a matter of time before several more div 2 clubs go down, Cally,Maccy,Gum all sruggling to recruit enough players that can get them off the bottom rung on the ladder
