Goolwa are in the better position to grab 5th over VH. They have MC, WI, McL and Victor have LC. EB, MC.

Current ladder:

EB 13
WI 10
ST 10
LC 9
VH 7
GO 7

My ladder predictor says:

EB 16
WI 13
LC 12
ST 12
GO 9
VH 8

That makes the 4.20 for Creek still pretty good.

Not that predicting winners has been easy of late...or all year for that matter.

Jackpot Jim,you were giving the Creeks odds at $12 a while ago,im still waiting at the Robin Hood Hotel, but now your putting them at $4.20,i wanted a bit of the $12,other teams in the 5 must be getting nervous about the Creek as they hit full strength come finals time.

The odds I've quoted r just my opinion as to what the odds should be if a bookie was actually betting on the event. Back when I quoted $12 they weren't even in the 5 probably. Yes, if they were on level terms with the others on the ladder at that time, they'd probably have been $2.20 but the fact they're coming from so far back, makes it unlikely they could win the flag no matter how impressive they were at the time. Any way at 1/2 time at victor, Victor lead the Creeks 5 - 3 to 1 - 9 so the $4.20 or even the $12 isn't looking so good now is it? Take a few players out of the Creek side and it makes a huge difference. Missing players such as Warren, Norman and McGregor and losing Shapter in the 2nd qtr to what may be a serious knee injury certainly impacts on them just as all clubs are impacted with injuries to key players. Looks like a Creek v Victor Elimination final.

I reckon if Victor can beat them then anyone can. Forget the outs, thats gonna happen in finals no matter what.
Victor Harbor 11 5 to Creeks 8 13.

Willunga are the team to beat, a 112 point win over Yank at their 'HOME' where the GF is going to be played. Yank fielded a very good team and they were smashed.

This is why the comp this year is one of the best for a long time.
Over the last month, E.Bay, Willunga and Creeks have all been hailed as Flag favorites.
Strath have beaten Willunga both times this season but dont get a mention.
Now it seems that the Creeks are destined for the Elimination Final, I'd be surprised if it isnt Bays v Willunga GF.
New suggested odds
E.Bay $1.80
Willunga $2.25
Strath $7.50
L.Ck $10.00
V.H. $31.00
Gool/P.E. $151

Couldn't be. Ran off at full strength against us. Resting for finals? Losing to minimize points?

Dont know.
Was just told he was injured.
Players can do injuries at training.
Has had a few hamstring related issues the last few years.

I might've been told a lie, he may have walked out on the club.
Will find out next week i guess.

I heard he pulled out just before the game LF. Yes a big out but everyone has injuries, We had 5 out from the previous week (in fact have had 15 changes in 3 weeks).

Victor bought intensity and great pressure to the contest and again showed they are good enough on their day.

Big win by my dees on the wkend against a full strength yank unit... ominous

In other news, ebay survived a scare on the weekend after being more than 10 goals infront early in the 3rd ended up winning by 15 points after the match being within 9pts late in 4th. Welsh off in last 3-4minutes. No welsh.... no ebay premiership

To say that Yank were full strength is a laugh! But... Willunga very impressive and write them off at ur peril! They are September specialists and have plenty to offer still. I still stand by my call of a Willunga vs. Creeks GF.

Might have been covered but how, what and why have Yank gone from Grand Finalists to wooden spooners in one season?

I doubt creek$ would be resting there best player to gain a few points for next year "luvs footy" plus missing out on a double chance maybe in the process also. The creek$ losing to victor has probably cost your pies a spot in the finals hence why you seem a bit angry on the topic. Our unbelievable season continues good win by the victor boys & mclaren giving the bays a shake after losing to Myponga the week before is interesting. Heard that sverdolff for Myponga quit during the week after being named in the reserves v strath. Not sure what happened there? "wow" might know more, (paid played not earning his bucks?).

Did welsh come off injured "fiftympenalty" or just taken off when the result was known?

Was at the Goolwa /Mt Compass game on the weekend and saw what many people at the ground including the Mt Compass people, was the worst A Grade umpiring performance witnessed in a long time by an umpire. His decission making was wrong everytime he blew his whistle, he knew it, the Goolwa people knew it and to confirm it Mt Compass people were quoted as saying this bloke is keeping us in this game. The Southern Leagues umpiring panel needs to look into this and deal with this umpire,as his decission making was terrible. I know umpiring week in and week out can be a thankless job , but with a performance like that it is not any wonder players and officials can become critical, as lets face it they are paid well to do a job for 2 hrs on a Saturday afternoon and it should be carried out without unbiased decission making . Generally the umpiring in the GSFL this year has been good but Saturday at Goolwa was terrible.
