If this was the actual Meningie squad for tomorrow's game, fitting all their players in points-wise may be a challenge.

http://www.sportingpulse.com/round_info ... 1-0&pool=1

Motlop - 5
McLeod - 4(?)
King - 2 (I think? ex Yorke Peninsula players are 2 points)
Stone - 3
Ware - 3
Vallejo - 3?

If above is correct, that's 20, to fit in with allocation of 17, they'd need to play 3 under 17's. Rhys Marles would be one, that would take it down to 19.

The League in their wisdom have decided that when Mcleod plays he is a 0 pointer. Helps having the president aligned to Meningie!! I can assure you if he has from Ramblers or Imperials this exemption would not apply.

Sorry that is not quite correct. They can play with 4 more points to accomodate McLeod but either way it is a significant concession.

I think you should look where Meningie is located into comparison with other teams in the league, definately a massive disadvantage hence why there is more points, and they finished bottom last yr

This is already factored in and I believe they do get extra points due to location which is a really good idea. What I do not agree with is the League making special rules just because a club picks up a high profile AFL player. What will happen next year if Scott Thompson retires and wants to go to Ramblers??? Will the same rule apply??

I'm not so sure that it was all ready factored in as jervois finished 3rd last yr and were given the same points as Meningie,. And for Scott thompson I honesty don't know but I guess they figure in the numbers that the murray bridge clubs have in there junior programs compared to say taliem, Meningie etc,

Every team would love to have McLeod and certain accommodations should be made to celebrate a champion of the game. There are far too many positives for the Meningie Football Club and the RMFL not to make this happen. It would be far worse to allocate 4 points to McLeod which then leads to a situation where we have 3 kids who aren't quite ready to play at the level, play and find their development potentially hindered.

Interesting. Perhaps the right move but may have created a precedent.

Doesn't Jervois have 15 points and Meningie 17?

Anyway noticed on Sporting Pulse Mannum defeated Bears by 4 goals.

Ramblers by 8 goals over TB.

If you ask me, meningie are wasting good money on mcleod and motlop, both were pretty unsighted for most of the day. The amount of times motlop dropped his head I'm sure he had a neck problem, also he only tries to do fancy things and nothing else, really poor effort from him and it was that bad he benched himself in the last quarter

How did Mannum's kids play today, I hear Bowles in the ruck did well.

I used to think the same, but have since learnt that Motlop and McLeod aren't costing Meningie, anywhere near as much as I thought they were.

Still, I do have my doubts over Motlop as a coach, although his big attribute is his ability to seemingly draw recruits to the club.

Pick of the young lads for me were O'Malley and Hermann. Bowles did some good things. Hales and Tonks both move very well and look like players, but were a bit quieter. It was the old dogs again for me that stood up. Hally with some memorable goals, Harvey all day and Mueller, just simply a gun!

Notice I said cost Meningie. I'm not denying that's what they're receiving.

Sounds like your getting confused with Harvey's arrangement.
Any truth in Harveys helicopter arriving early to get the discounted gate entry price?
I think Hazel was the only one at the ground to witness the arrival
