Wonder Elephant, invited but we are not looking at the 20/20 or the loxton cup, too early pal and better off doing our own thing. G'day there Indian, Good to to have recruiting out the way before xmas. Ringing recruits sucks!! Speak soon pal. Yoda, sounds like you have a chip, did you play for Ironbank and left with a thorn in ya butt. Indian we would have ya back anytime - with open arms and roses and a box of frothies. Should think about it bloke? Evidently Sodomka has lost 18 kilograms in the off season - watch out for a fit slim Sodomka.

Dangermouse I think IB have enough NorthEast's so it won't matter.
They have not been able to fix that problem, but looking around only half the AFL teams have been able to.
Indian I welcome any of your comment as it is informed, from our point of view. I will add to OKO comments and if you could even add something to the juniors it would be worth gold. Equivalent to Barney coming back!

I will repeat what I said 12 months ago 2 BIG forwards is what we need! I watched one the other day in a different sport and amazed we did not even talk to him!
Lots of new midfielders are only going to piss off the youngsters.

I agree we are looking to improve if we can engage all the main players early in the year.
I look forward to another year older of Parters and Stevo.

Can anyone tell me as to whether any of these players are out at Blackwood Ben Badanoch, Brett Hage, Ben Layley, Tim Prahan or Andrew Warner and if they did how they went last season?

Ironbank lads, I heard at the end of last season some young gun who played under 14's for you guys last year was heading to Lofty this coming year? I have no idea of his name but he was a short little fella with blonde hair i believe who is a fair superstar in the making from what i've been told. Is there any truth in the matter?

Andrew Warner played at Hectorville in 07 and at Adelaide Uni in 06 and maybe 05.

haha Its probably Popey, ive heard a few rumours aswell, apparently he's doing preseason with the Sturt leauge squad...
But Dashin think about it- He just won a premiership with IB in the 14s, did Lofty win a game last year in the 14s? Future looks bright... Why would he go there?

Whats happening at some of the other Central Div clubs. Have heard Lofty have lost a few but will no doubt pick a few up with Coleman at the helm. Will we see some improvement from Bridgey? Sounds like Hahndorf will be one to keep an eye on. Have Uraidla retained and gained? And what are the ins and outs for Blackwood. I heard they picked up a big ruckman from Sturt.

banker im pretty sure the bloke wouldnt be training with the league squad that would just be plain ridiculous! also he is moving into the under 17 age group and mt lofty seem to be fairly successful in the under 17 division.

Banker and bookie, Pope did train with the league boys, for one training, because The coach was happy with his running ability at 17s level, he came out for a training and did very well for himself.

trigger (knee)
rossco, travis white, flash, florentini, racer and peterson grey and artis at west but will play for lofty if not playing league. a few others but cant remember of top of head

do however have m stapleton and burchy back. woody is back from injuries.

still think they will be top 3.

With further player losses at bridgey, surely sooner or later they're gonna have to look at moving in to the country division...would anyone agree? Unless they can pull a rabbit out of the hat, there isn't goona be any joy at the swamp for a bloody long time. It would seem even the locals are losing interest....

Okay...to answer my own question, word on the street is that Bridgewater have picked up Luke Walsh from Strath for about $400 a game. Was previously being paid about $150 at strath and wasn't worth a cold pie...money well spent by the sounds, if you're fan of sarcasm.

To answer your question 'Big Fella'. Last year Loby paid 5 or 6 blokes between $100 and say $300 a week who wouldn't have gotten a game in a top 5 side. They had only one decent import(earning >$400) but he's gone anyway. My point is that this year they've gotten rid of the lot upon realisation you're better off not paying anyone and finishing bottom, than paying a few who aren't going to make the disired impact...why waste the $$$? Lobey will finish bottom this year. Having said that they have a stack of gun juniors who should come into fruition over teh next 5 or 6 years. Definately some promise on the horizon albeit a fair way in the distance.

Bridgy on the other hand have been plugging holes for years. Will be competitive, as that's what they do, they just don't win many games. Would be great for the comp to see them back in the 5, who's gonna take them there though?
