Will be a very handy pick up, extremely fit and with that will run circles around most casual country footballers. Ango were hoping to snare him as he also mixes in the gaelic circle with the other boys, plus theres that connection with him and dawes at norwood, think in the end money won out with the hills team the victor!

G'day all. New to the forum and looking forward to becoming a regular! :D

Regarding the above quote, my mate at Kapunda thinks they only have one new recruit at this stage, a big lad from Eudunda who played in their senior colts season before last. His first name was Chip, but he can't remember his last name.
Must be only 18/19, but they reckon he could be a star down the track. CDFC was after him pretty hard, but he wasn't that keen.
Brad Taylor most likely to sign on again, if he hasn't already.

I notice Parish was linked to Balaklava back on Dec 4th in this thread. Is he definitely gone as far as Freeling goes Swampie?

Roodog posted this on the other BLG site

Anyone shed any light on a little issue out at Freeling?
So far, the story goes like this: A recruit is brought in, with the intention to play him as local by settling him in the town (no probs with that). He gets put up at a local hotel, and I was told he was working there (?)
In the last week or so, he pinches a vehicle belonging to the publican, along with a fair amount of cash and takes off interstate!
No names, no pack drill, but any further details out there?

Yes, heard the same story, sounds very messy.

Thanks Don Brook and Drifter. Heard a couple more details since and the bloke seems a pretty ordinary type. Gotta get recruits with skills AND character, in the mould of a Scott Hahn or a Dallas Keane or a Scott Leal.
Every club has had their shockers though! I understand Ricky O'Loughlin turned up to training twice in the whole of the 2007 season at Kapunda, and David Coombs ripped into more team mates than opponents at South Gawler.....

Thanks Don. I think you may be right, as the name came up for me on the North Eastern League website

The story that Roodog posted was same as i had heard. I think he came from Darwin and had been played up in the N.T. I dont know or want to post his name. All in all most football clubs from year to year get burnt with players and poor behaviour eg Ellis at South Gawler, Red Barnett at Centrals, Kennedy at South, young Brooks for us, It happens. Not to say it is right.

Interesting that you post other names up DB, however are reluctant to name this person in this instance. Not sure what this is telling me? Interesting that you relate all those blokes behaviour to a person who is currently in the slammer?? You might need to be careful about slander and the like...
