Grant any good? What did he play there?
I went to school with him and his brother (Mark?).
Grant's recently got a clearance to the Mid Murray League.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

He played at Hamley Bridge a few years ago and was 2nd String Ruckman to Jamie Lowe who was just a tad over 6'9, never saw Whiteman as a ruckman out there, and i don't want to bag a bloke but he didn't set the world on fire, but he was no nuffy either.

Nuffy / nufy/ Nuff Nuff ,Colloqial - noun 1. a thing that fails to work properly or is otherwise unsatisfactory or worthless : Bright was exceptional across half forward but Garron was a nuffy.
Sorry people I only deal in facts!

I see in today's tiser that the WBFL were flogged by 20 goals in their inter-league game against the Murray League at Stawell last weekend.

The league has always played in the Victorian interleague comp and from my memory of the last 10 years always seems to get beaten easily.

Why is this? do the best players not represent the league or are the Vic big leagues simply streets ahead.

Is it time for the WBFL to change to play against some of the SA leagues instead such as Great Southern or Riverland?

wbfl was a very strong comp through the 80s, gaining many players from the vfl every year, at interleauge level i think they were in top div for many yrs, however the wbfl has been in my opinion in a slow decline since late 90s as a strong leauge.
and yes the big leauges of victoria are streets ahead.

wbfl has always & will always be affilliated with vic country

Agreed. Because the WBFL is affiliated with VCFL it will always be compelled to play within the VCFL interleague structures.

Half way mark of the season

Ladder
1. Imperials 28
2. Portland 24
3. Hamilton 24
4. East 20
5. North 16

6. West 16
7. South 16
8. Millicent 12
9. Casterton 4
10. Heywood 0

Westies are 4 from 8, can they finally play finals after a long dry spell? Can anyone challenge Portland and Imperials? The 4 teams from the Mount look to be fighting for the last 2 finals spots or will Hamilton drop off?

The local footy community has been boosted with the Marqee signing of one of the Elletsons brothers. In an exclusive 1 on 1 interview with Shaun, he said "I am very exited with my new found club" .
Cashed up Millicent are sitting a gold mine with this outsanding signing. Word on the street says that poachers were seen often at his previous club, Plympton over looking this incredible talent stalking his prey on the footy field.
Shaun also explained that he is natural-born football superstar with modern day silky smooth skills and sound effects to match. Im sure he will lure big crowds and big dollars at Millicent Oval on Saturdays and this once quiet South-East town will be alive and kicking in 2009. GO THE MILLIES!!!

If it is the same Danny Whiteman, last year he played a few games at Willaston and then mid season became the runner as well as Hamley Bridge he has played at Barossa District, Tanunda.
