Champ if you seriously believe Echunga would be competitive in Central Division you are on drugs! Their best players are throw away Central Division players. Get into the real world and come and watch a Central Div game and you will find out just how much difference there is!

Monte so in accurate I dont know which point to start with.

I've been involved in the central division and there are some very good teams however banging on like it's light years ahead is a little sad mate, the right recruits, coaches, admin and a club will shine beyond a team.
With respect to your throw away comment I didn't know Clint Guy, Adam Jennings, Jason Baylis, Luke Carey, Adam Edwards were tossed out by other clubs but I've been wrong before....

Anyway I'd say that IF the demons and or the roosters wanted to step up and did then they certainly wouldnt come last in central, I'd call that competitive however I think it was Ricky Boddy's daddy that said, 'if you're not first, you're last.'

I view this thread weekly for the Callington update, it seems like the only time they are competitive is against Sedan. Must be like their Grandy!!!

I agree this must stop. Hopefully the pain will end in a few weeks. Good on them though for still naming best players. You've gotta hand it to any player who has the nuts to put up with that crap, week in and week out, paid or unpaid.

Lets hope it is over for the Eagles soon, there are a few who remember the early days, I still have my boots but have given up, they aint what they use to be and everyone who made the club what it was in the first 5 years have all gone. There were some good people who went to better things in alot of cases and good luck to them. RIP Eagles I say. And yes htr well done to any unpaid best players, ask about C grade, plenty of spirit there.

Agree Hamish what a disgrace Callington are, 11 blokes had the honour of having more than 100 goals kicked against them in a day.

That is staggering that 11 played two games, surely, apart from anything else, that is a sign of a club that is stuffed. Mind you, thosyou've got to give those blokes some credit and respect.

Digraceful, should be thrown out immediately.
With three wins today of over 170 points the association has become even more of a laughing stock than it already was.
23 goals in a quarter is outrageous

Certainly not going to go into it again but unfortunately with no promotion/relegation like their is in the amateurs, the have nots are going to get it handed to them. If this comp was another 500 km from Adelaide you wouldn't get this disparity but having said that, some of these clubs would have shut up shop long ago if that was the case and as I've said before, Kersbrook's side for example would have won every grand final from about 1997 - 2006 by between 20 - 40 goals if you could transplant their current side - and they're currently 3rd on the ladder - back in time so I find it quite humorous that this comp is somehow more of a joke now even though the top 4 sides are light years ahead of the sides that were running around in the '90's and early 2000's.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion Jim but some of these other twits from div 6 amateurs making ridiculous comments, what a joke!

Mick Daniele, sorry about the injury mate but you've been a real trooper for the 4 years you've been there.

Just find it disappointing, spent several years up there when I was at Barossa District and have many good memories of the league(expect for the old Kersy oval)

Echunga: Another disappointing year, Will they play finals in 2002? Probably not..

Birdwood:Possibly the biggest disapppointment of the season..we all expected big things..

Did you read the cr#p in the Final Siren this week about the number of returned Budgets?
I have not been able to get a budget for most of the season as they have run out! (Callington and Sedan aside) Although it depends on the junior program beforehand.

The most important thing to debate on this thread is what to do with the current state of the playing competition!

Unfortuantely due to the state of the junior competition there will be NO cycle and poor teams wont be good in a few years.

Perhaps they could throw a few leftovers our way on Sundays. We haven't seen a Final Siren all year.

can anyone confrim this from the callington vs sedan game?

Heard a rumour that runner came out to the callington captain sometime in third quarter and said that we have a problem some of the blokes have gone off the ground and infact decided to leave the oval all together (they quit) - he said bloody hell go tell Mitch (Shane Mitchell), runner ran off and then 2 mins later came back to the captain - runner said problem mate Mitchell is one of the blokes that has left???

What went on? did half of the team quit or what?
