Can anyone shed some light on the rumour that Scott Sutherland is not going to coach Uri's next year.

Have heard he was to coach Broadview, but know a bloke who plays out there and he said that broadview already have a coach.

Have also heard that Pucker is to head into town and play with the Unley Jets as he found out what all the recruits were getting paid and walked.

All rumours, so just wanted to see if anyone else has heard this??

Sutherland is definitely coaching Uraidla. A few guys at Broadview started this rumour after he flat out said no to their initial enquiry. They were pretty keen to get him and were trying to stir the pot and hoped that the rumour would cause some unrest at Uraidla and Sutherland would fall into Broadviews lap.

Pucka is staying at Uraidla too. No doutbt the Unley Jets rumour was started by ex Uraidla player Matty Thomas who is currently playing for the Jets. He is known for stirring the locals at Uri up by telling them that the 'out of towners' are on a lot more cash than they actually are. Wouldn't surprise me if he has been in Pucka's ear trying to stir him up in the hopes of getting him to play at the Jets with words to this effect. Don't know anyone who has any time for him. Caused quite a bit of unrest when he played at Uraidla with his 'all about me' attitude. A few gun players threatened to leave at the end of the '06 season if Thomas was going to play on at Uraidla.
Is that the Matt Thomas that used to play at Norwood.

I'm not a betting man, but if I was, I'd put all my coin on the fact that everyone on SA Footy would agree that nobody likes that bloke.

And yes, it is the same guy that played for Norwood.

Seems TV are contriving a mutiny against the Big O. With all HFL clubs given a 'How to Vote' slip in the forthcoming election. Maybe Mr.Downer will take over as HFL President after the Libs get the chop in 15 days time.

Is a good player though. Almost won a game for them against us this year off his own boot, kicked 4 or 5 in the last quarter when we were 6 up and nearly stole it.

I'm quite surprised he hasn't started his own thread about how good he is on this forum. A club will never win a flag with that bloke at their club.

I'd give him credit for being a good player (which he is), but he'll tell you all about it himself.

I've never seen him play when it's windy......all the tickets he has on himself would blow off.

From the official North site http://www.nafc.com.au

Roger James

The North Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce that former Port Power Premiership player Roger James has joined the Club as an assistant Coach. Andrew is delighted with the appointment and is looking forward to "tapping" into some of Roger's vast amount of AFL Experience. Before retiring due to injuries, Roger was one of the premier On Ballers in the AFL, especially at Clearances, his knowledge will be invaluable to the likes of Allan, O'Brien, Stribling, Pfeiffer and Delvins. Roger will take over as Midfield Coach from Tim Cook who unfortunately couldn't continue due to increased work commitments. I thought he was good mates with Collo and was going to Onkas?? As mentioned on the Hills Country thread, his playing days with the Brookers will continue in a limited capacity. Don't worry, he'll get the 6 games needed.

LOL...GOLD :D :D :D :D

Was a wan*er at Norwood by all reports, and still is by the sounds...if his ability matched his belief in himself, they would have given HIM the no. 4 jumper at Carlton this year instead...

Have heard a few big names departing Lofty.

Latest I've heard is Travis White to Broadview. Gordon has signed with Athelstone and I believe another two other big name players may be following suit.

Does anyone at Lofty know if Floreani is playing on in '08? heard a lot of rumours that he may be playing elsewhere.

Banker, I'd suggest BF signing as an assistant coach was good news as he won't be playing for them.

Lofty's squad was the best I've ever seen in Hills footy but I don't think it is stable. It's impossible to keep a squad like that together. I hope they can maintain the majority of it as IB is on the rise and it'd feel a whole lot better knocking off and strong Lofty than a weak one.

No players signed for IB as far as i know. Like all clubs in talks with some though. Main point is have not lost any of last years recruits. And i think the rise AF was talking about would come from the abundant of 18-22 yr olds gaining more experience
