Advice directly form the RMFL is that any new player to your club that has played 20 SANFL games is points, U18 players will be 2 points.

GWW wrote:Yeah I've based my ladder on player depth mainly. Tailem are definite top 5, possibly top 3 contenders, however an injury to Wark or Bowen would de-rail their season. Also Newchurch has put in a clearance to the Riverland Independent, so that would be one less big man they would have.

Mypo will probably have the best depth outside Imps, thats why I have tipped the Tigers for a grand final berth.

Jervois I think will be right up there because I reckon Coulter will perhaps return and they are likely to recruit mid season as they have done in the past.

Mannum will probably drop, as will Ramblers, but both likely to maintain top 5 positions due to their 6 or 7 real quality players.

Newchurch is staying at Tailem Bend

Mannum have clearances in for 2 of the fringe Magpies players, so either they've found a loophole in the system, or will be playing 4 juniors to reduce their points.

With regards to the two Port Magpies recruits - Hales has played 35 U/18 games so will be a 2 pointer while Tonkes has only played 16 reserves/U18 games so will be a 0 pointer.

the port magpies site has Tonkes playing a total of 24 games in reserves/18's over the last two seasons, these total games when working out points allocations are they done over a single season or over a few?

Total games played so if Tonkes has played 24 he would be a 2 pointer

Does it say anywhere, what happens to the guys who were recruited last year as zero pointers from these comps? Do they retain their zero status or move to 1 point assuming they are still at the same club?

Spoke to one of the umpires from down that way last night,
he was saying how nice it was that new Mannum recruit Craig Harvey had surprised him at his front door last week with a big plate of Cookies
and a moderately priced bottle of Sparkling wine, and that all the other umpires in the River Murray league had been given the same lovely visit as well.
He inferred that he may have filled out some of his player voting cards in advance.
Good old Harvs is gonna take the league by storm with his trademark sayings "thanks ump" and "gee, you look nice today ump".
The men in white have never felt more appreciated and it is no co-incidence that several Barossa umpires have put in for transfers to the River Murray league too.

Heard that Mannum are paying a good amount of money to a player this year that has only played under 18's and reserves footy for his amateur club. Although he is a very good size, this will only be his first year of senior footy.

From SMOSH I believe but not sure what he is like sorry (didn't get his name). Think he may be going up there with another mate who is on a fair stack as well but has better credentials (again dont know names sorry). But it is very good money to be offered to a bloke who is straight from u/18 competition. I am under the impression he hasnt been playing football all that long and has made a transition from another sport.

I heard no money was even offered to this guy, his parents have moved to Mannum. He contacted the club as he was interested in getting a game. The fact that he is 200cm tall and can play a bit are a bonus for Mannum
