PM me if it's not suitable for public consumption!

You've just been awarded stupid post of the century.

Blackwood did play their real B's in the GF and LOST. The Devils ressies are the Super B's because we've won 3 flags in a row. How many have Blackwood won in recent times? Over the last 3 seasons, the Super B's have only lost 7 games from memory. If that's not Super, I don't know what is.

Time will tell........that you're wrong.

da u just replied to it !!!first congrats on 3 flags again you guys have set the bar very high but we will try to bring it down ..welldone
great to see the 14s win the flag ronnie will be over the moon !!! hope we can keep most of these kids and see a few playing a grade in the future ..by the way hope we dont see to much of shears and popey they should be at a higher level and will be 8)
no to sure a m is to far of the mark da i know your killer bees beat them on sat but if they had there real b grade playing all seoson they would be very hard to beat imo because they would have them all qualifed

ha no, they did drop some guys back but not an entire team DA... The 21 players that made the B grade finals for BW this year wont have a spot next year

Looked like they were still kicking on at the Crafers yesterday evening...

Elephant- I can think of atleast 5 A graders who played in the 2000 JC premiership team, if thats any indication, the future looks good :)

This from a geek sitting on the net while the GF was being played! If you're going do dispute my comment you had better get your facts right champ. I was at the game and have close ties with Blackwood, particularly their Cs. Blackwood did not drop players back. The vast majority had all played throughout the season and not just qualified at the end.

I acknowedge how strong the As were and you harp on the Bs. Smart. Don't forget I'm not a Blackwood man, just making an observation when I'm informed.

I agree AF the blackwood side that played on the weekend had a few of the country A's but not their entire side which will play in that grade next year. This will make them a hell of alot stronger than what they were in this GF. But as DA said only time will tell however 21 country A graders playiny in the B grade comp might surprise a few blokes. Either way well done lofty 3 back 2 back flags is an awsome effort your club must be pumpped

AF - the bloke had to 'sit on the net' cos he's in England, mate. Not sure if a flight back would be worth it :?
Blackwood can bring whoever the hell they want back to Central A's, B's, C's, whatever. But it does also mean ALOT of lads will miss out and probably leave. And quantity does NOT equate to quality.
The earlier question about losing recruits - I think most will stay, but there was still some talk of a couple not being too happy playing under Grainger. But it's all worked out well so far...

Maybe not, but the top 5 clubs in Central A's all have a 3rd side

True, but somewhat irrelevant. A certain amount of depth is very important, but just big playing numbers doesn't mean definite success.
Either way, it's a long way away. Blackwood will have to weigh up what's best for player satisfaction by dropping their country teams as well.

Agree it's a bit confusing that both Blackwood's C and D grade made GFs, but all those blokes will be told (IF they pull their Country Div sides) go and find a new Club!?!? WTF?? Blackwood is the same size as Gawler, yet can only produce an A and a B grade?? Gawler have Centrals, South and Willaston all to support.

Totally agree getting rid of 2 senior sides is a strange decision for a club to make i guess that trying to win a b grade flag is better than no flag at all but will it work and most other clubs would hate to have to tell 50 blokes that there is no longer a spot for them at their club. The worst part is that whilst they may not be the creme of the crop they are basically all local lads who have been at the club for years and are the ones that are always the last to leave of a night. It just goes to show what sort of a club they are and what else would yo expect from the bloke in charge. Anyhoo i reckon some of these lads might head down the hill and play where some of the other blokes who left last year went

Seems some of the Ironbank boys have changed their tune re. Blackwood B's, I thought they had heaps of unfamiliar faces playing when they beat you guys in the the prelim and that Lofty would be surprised at how many players they wouldn't recognise in the GF. Now that Lofty pumped em Blackwood only had a couple of country a graders playing? :?

have to agree it is strange for them to drop 2 sides, but take into consideration for them to have 4 sides they are attracting 100 (at least) senior players every weekend they've done pretty damn well. Also consider that no more than a 15 minute drive are clubs like Marion, Brighton, Happy Valley, Flagstaff Hill, Mitcham and even Unley. They are all looking for players to boost their numbers.

Yeah no denying we saw some unfamiliar faces, but they weren't the result of players being dropped back even if we thought it at the time. Anyway, I've had enough of this, you got the flag, so who cares what anybody else did!!!

See Dave Bartel was B.O.G. in the Div 1 Amateur League GF on the weekend. Wonder if he'll be where Gary is next year?? He'd have to make a big play to lure him away from Goodwood.

Congratulations to Mt.Lofty. Simply too good on the day. 3 flags in 3 comps especially given that two of their sides finished below the teams they were playing on the ladder is a remarkable effort and to do it two years in succession makes it an even more remarkable feat.

From an impartial spectators point of view it was a pretty unexciting day of football. I saw the two senior grades and the senior colts GF and the games were all pretty much over at 1/4 time.

As far as the A grade goes Uri went in without K.McLean & Zillante who were both out with hamstring injuries. Lofty were unchanged from the 2nd semi. The Devils blew Uri's away in the 1st quarter 7 goals to 1 and the game was effectively over. To Uraidla's credit they battled the game out and to go down by 4 goals in the end given how poorly they played is a credit to their club although I'm sure they would not accept finishing runners up given they lost only 1 minor round game and had the wood over Lofty in the minor round.

As far as the best players and key match ups go I thought Bawden was good but not best. I thought Artis and Cutting were probably the best 2 on the park. Stevens and Chapman played good games as well. White & Gordon also played their best games against Uri's this season when it counted most.

For Uri's Vidic threw a scare into the Lofty camp a couple of times when they put him one out in the goal square. I'm pretty sure Vidic had something like 3 or 4 different opponents. Lofty simply didnt have anyone to match up on him as he snagged a couple of quick goals before coming off with a knock to the head. Sutherland was good across half back but never puts himself in the best players and I thought Ebel did a very good job on Wait given he looked to be playing on one leg but at the end of the day Lofty simply had too many winners all over the park.

What a great day of footy on Saturday the Devils Far to strong in the GF wat was all this talk about uraidla pfff the cabbage were way off the mark. Any truth to the rumour that the lofty A grade coach got a bit carried away on sat night and assaulted a 17yr old half his size at the devils after party. I got told that a few lofty players had to step in and tell him to pull his head in. maybe some of the devils boys could fill me in on this. Anyways another yr another 3 premierships to lofty and 1 going down the road to ironbank not bad considering the 2 clubs that took home all 4 premierships were celler dwellers a few yrs ago.
