Andrew McLeod can't playing at Meningie as reported:

Norwood Football Club Major Signing

An excited Norwood Football Club CEO, Bill Leane will today announce the signing of former Crows legend Andrew McLeod to the Norwood Football Club coaching panel for season 2012.

McLeod a 340 game and 275 goals; recently retired Superstar of the Adelaide Crows joins the Redlegs as a specialist forward Coach. The opportunity has been created by the recent departure of Scott Borlace following an opportunity to join the Brisbane Lions (AFL) as a development coach.

Leane said “Andrew has attracted a great deal of interest from many other SANFL Clubs and to secure him is a real “coup” for Norwood Football Club.” “He brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, a winning (2 AFL Premierships) track record, as well as an ability to create opportunities and kick goals.” “For young forwards learning from Andrew can mean the difference between just playing and succeeding”, said Leane.

Coach Nathan Bassett thanked Scott Borlace for his contribution over the past 2 years and stressed the strength of his opportunity with the Lions. “To have Andrew as part of the Norwood football club, bringing his experience, knowledge and passion is terrific”, said Bassett. “I really am looking forward to working with Andrew”.

In accepting this new role at the Redlegs Andrew said “I am looking forward to working at Norwood and at Coopers Stadium.” “It is great to work with a former teammate in Nathan Bassett and as part of a well structured program.” “Norwood have some great new recruits and a very exciting forward line and the prospects for the season 2012 are strong.”

Andrew will continue in current roles with AFL and Adelaide Crows.

Leane has asked all REDLEGS Fans to please come to the FREE supporters PIE night at Coopers Stadium this Wednesday and give Andrew a huge reception !
Our fans can see the new recruits, hear from Nathan and meet the coaches. The night starts at 5:45pm player and Coach introductions will be at 7.45pm.
The U/18's and U/16's will train after the League boys so as to give our Fans a glimpse of the Future , said Leane

It is still possible for McLeod to play some games at Meningie with Friday night and Sunday games. Might be part of his agreement with Norwood to still allow him to do this.

I would have thought that would still be a possibility. Same with Simon Feast and Langhornes creek a few years ago in that he was in a coaching role at Sturt and playing for the Creeks when avaliable.

I believe McLeod was only due to play a handful of games at the Bears anyways so surely this would fit in with Sundays / Friday nights

Edit: Especially when you look at the Norwood draw. They only play 8 Saturday games for the year out of 23 rounds

Scott Borlace played 5 games for yankalilla last year, Ken McGregor played 6 for Encounter Bay. McLeod might find it hard with Crows and AFL roles too though.
