Can any Hawks supporters out there tell me who took over the 2's job when D Curyer departed?

And the side seems to be flying without Beefa Milne up forward this year, obviously not a case of him being the difference (always said he was getting it on a platter but of course the fact was argued).

The great Darren Curyer's job has been filled by 3 different blokes since he moved to WA. Ack Verco was the original interim coach, John Griffen was then appointed however he's been overseas for a month. In his absence Josh King has been at the helm. It's been a bit of a revolving door.

As for Beefa, he certainly gave us plenty up forward in the 2's last year but since he's been gone we've been going alright. Probably due to the fact none of the young blokes have been getting led astray by him anymore!!

Cheers for that Limb, I wonder if the two blokes in question know they aren't all that far from each other at the moment???

No doubt a few of the young lads are in bed early or home playing X-box on Friday nights now that Beef is touring... I bet the Creek hasn't been the same though, funny **** he is!

So where is the number of games at (unbeaten) for the Hawk Super B's now? You backing em' in again this week against the arch rival?

Saturday night's at the club have certainly been a bit quieter and a lot less stuff gets broken without Beefa around..

The Creek B's have won 32 on the trot now but they've got a big test tomorrow.. should be a cracker of a match!

I will be very surprised limb if Victor beats the Saints by over 60. I have seen Victor a few times and they are very ordinary. Speaking of ordinary you given Yank a big chance. Sterzl to kick plenty! Pongy to win by 10+. However i have been known to be wrong at times

Well an interesting upset caused by McLaren over Strath on the weekend.
This week's match of the round is a toss up - Compass and Willunga are sured of finals action, its now the case of what order they finish in while Ebay and McLaren race for 4th and 5th spots.

Mt Compass looked good on the weekend however wayward passing will hurt them against quality opposition who are able apply pressure across the ground. MtCompass flood the footy and release runners very well which might be counteracted by the height of Willunga who if can win the aerial battles as expected will need to convert more often than not when entering forward fifty. MtCompass have some quality underated runners which may force Willunga to slow the pace of the game down to nullify the run but in saying this Willunga are not sure on quality midfielders especially seeing as though Burdett left the ground early to attend to the biggling hammy, one to watch - Underwood.

McLaren Vs Ebay
McLaren will be boosted by the win over the inform Strath while Ebay continue with their hit and miss form. McLaren with a run home against Ebay, L/Creek, Mt Compass, Mypo, Yank with a current win/loss record of 5 and 7 will need this win along with taking the points over Yank and Mypo while an unlikely win against MtCompass would really set them up. Ebay on the other hand are currently sitting at 7-6 with a run home against McLaren, Victor, L/Creek, Strath and Mypo will need to ensure they win atleast 3 more games to cement a finals spot and obviously gain some much needed confidence and form in order to be competitive in september.

The other important factor to take into account with the Willunga / Mt Compass match will be the State Country match. Glass, Thomas & Portlock of Willunga and Burdett from Mt Compass will be playing for SA Country.

Very true, I didnt even think of that.
Do you reckon that Mt Compass will have more depth in running type players than Willunga?

I heard that the Creeks won eased down against the Demons on Saturday by a lazy 4 - 5 goals. Have willunga still got players to come back as the Hawks still have 3 - 4 first choice players to come back i've been told.
All points to a Brown and Gold Premiership.

L.Ck........$1.35
Willunga...$3.20
Mt.Comp..$6.00
E.Bay.....$51.00
Strath...$101.00
McLaren $301.00

After the bays' performance on the weekend Jackpot you still have them at $51.00 to win the flag? Bays may not make the five and should be closer to $501.00. Danger game for the Creeks this week. Obviously the result is not an issue but it was in the corresponding match earlier in the year where King broke his arm I think. You wouldn't want to risk injuries in a 'nothing' game!

LuvsFooty, u make 2 good points.
Odds Update.....

Strath, E.Bay and Mclaren all $501.00

Yes, the Creeks should rest some of their 'A' Grade Stars and let LIMB & co. From the UNBEATABLE Ressies step up to the 'A' s to shoulder the load and protect them.

Thanks jackpot! I will have a lazy ten on the Bays at $501.00! As for limb and his mob it would be a good game v the the Saints A Grade. Creeks would probably still get over the line

In all due respect to the Saints I think the Creeks will be looking to do more than 'get over the line' this week.

This weeks tips..

Encounter Bay over McLaren by 5 goals (Bays will bounce back)
Myponga over Victor by 2 goals
Strath over Yank by 10 goals
Mt Compass over Willunga by less than a goal
Langhorne Creek over Saints comfortably

It will be interesting opening the paper on Sunday morning... plenty of games that could go either way.

I agree limb, very interesting indeed.
Still plenty of viable teams chasing a finals spot, while most would argue the finals are set in stone I can speak from more than one experience that teams only need to get there as footy's real different in September.

Im also tipping Mt Compass in a tight one and the Bays to pinch the points away.

[quote="FootyMad"] Im also tipping Mt Compass in a tight one quote]

If Jimmy Batza plays Compass will get up, if not I think Willunga just... Compass always seem to fire with Batz slotting a few between the big sticks.

Footymad and Limb you were right about the Bays bouncing back, thats one that I was wrong on! They are all over the shop (Jeckyl and Hyde). Although the Creek are still undefeated, I would take note of Willung'a performance minus Portlock, Glass and Thomas. Its not over just yet. Bring on the finals. Just on the Creek, how did the Saints manage to kick their second highest score of the year Limb? Are the Saints showing some potential?

Was that really their 2nd highest score for the year?? That's probably why they haven't won many games!
I guess it was a reasonably open and free flowing match which meant both sides had plenty of scoring opportunities.
