Well done to Imperials, I'm not a fan, however they've obviously had a very dominant day.

I imagine losing the Under 17's would be a slight disappointment though, particularly as I think they'd gone through undefeated up to today.

Terrific day for the Imperial Football Club only spoilt by the fact that Rambers U/17 played outstanding football to win that match. Some observations to come out of the A grade:
How can a team let the Mail Medallist have over 50 possessions and for large parts of the game play loose in defence? Not the smartest piece of coaching. Wait produced one of the best performances I can remember in a Grand Final.
Ramblers have had a great 6 or 7 years but there were signs yesterday that they need to turn some senior players over. Some looked really slow and if they are not careful the could easily slide two or three places next year.
Imperials have amazing depth at the moment and one of the clubs real challenges is to keep some of the fringe A and B players from being poached from other neighbouring leagues.

Hopefully we get three flags before they run out and it spurs them on!!!

Geez you talk crap Willy.

To say that if you play your best footy we wont get close is absolute BS! You had to play out of your skin to get a 2 point win at home earlier this year and we played like a mob of headless chooks for a half for you to win by 14 points in the final.

Pull ya head in mate!

Anything to say now biffboy??

Thanks Imps for proving me 100% correct!! :D

Couldn't be said any better MrWilly and to think they didn't play like headless chooks on the weekend, they were just outclassed. Tyson Wait was able to run free and would of racked up over 50 touches.

Would be interesting to know which club in Great Southern he might heading to, taking into account he'd be worth 3 points, and presumably would be on a fair salary. Not saying that clubs wouldnt want him but that clubs in that league with a full point allocation already may have to juggle to fit him in.

Would be a big loss to the Roos if he does move on. Its not going to be easy for them to rebuild with the points system and likely loss of some key players. I could imagine them offering a few $'s to zero pointers who are now at other clubs, in order to get them back.

Fair call Willy, fair call

Imps were absolutely amazing on the weekend, just had never see them play like that all year. Tyson Wait deserves all the praise he gets but IMO the standout was Davey and the way he hand fed the imps mid fielders all day. Money well spent on that one

I still cant believe how easy we made it for Wait to gather so many touches floating around loose in defence, we just didnt seem to have our minds set right and were very undisciplined. Our inability to adapt our game plan was obvious and some seemed to lose all interest during the second term when the game was on the line. Our depth was also completly exposed.

A big congrats to our U/17's on the upset of the season, well deserved and many of these kids will help our lack of depth in the next couple years as some are extremely talented.

But that was last season now, heard alot of rumours about possible moves in a variety of clubs over the weekend so will be a interesting few months ahead.

Fair enough.

I'm not sure re Tailem, although I go to a couple of games most seasons, I only follow them from afar these days.

   Yeah thought it was quite funny.... Good to see you front up!!

I did hear some people saying the Rambler Hierarchy were confident in their plan to stop Wait after the Semi Final - because they let him do the same thing that day as they did in the minor round win we had at Johnstone Park.... Apparently they were confident "it wouldn't be happening in the GF..." It seemed they decided they couldn't man up on him so didn't bother even trying....

And yes well done to your under 17's..... Thought we were a tad unlucky.... A few bounces of the ball going the wrong way at vital times.... Having said that if we had played like we had all year it wouldn't of been an issue... Think we may've been better off getting beaten in that Semi Final..... Problem with that age group though....

Hoping Imps can keep most of their squad together as there are a lot of young guys in there who could be part of a dynasty and with 3 B grade flags, 3 under 15 flags and 3 under 17s grand finals in the last 3 years there are a lot of young guys coming through and plenty of depth.

I can't see Dwayne Wilson playing too many more games for the club as he should go onto higher honours..... Hopefully we don't lose too many more than that....

Hear that Clint Gerardi retired on Saturday after the game?? Anyone confirm?

Nah, hasnt retired yet but it is possible. He has been having major ankle issues for awhile and being an architect, he really doesnt need the extra $150 a week. Viney will probably retire aswell so we could potentially be saying goodbye to 170 goals from this season. Measures are already being taken to cover there losses and Alex Button will be back next year who may play full forward if Girardi leaves.

I'll give you the hot tip tho, we may lose a few to retirement but we will be in the top 2 still next year

Any whispers to report? Are Bowen and Wark going around again at TB? Coulter and White at Jervois? Quinn confirmed as an out for the Roos.

I haven't heard re Wark and Bowen, but do believe that Jervois have all their key recruits again for next year.

Bowen & Wark are both staying I believe, pretty sure they are both shacked up with local girls now. Not to sure on a couple of there other stars tho
Coulter & White are staying at Jervois as mentioned in the standard the other week but I really dont understand what Jervois were thinking when they had it put in the paper along with the Ladhams re-signing. Its not the bloody AFL!
Quinn gone & coaching Karoonda but it is still unknown who or if he will take anyone with but I imagine a couple will be tempted. Mannum could be in real trouble next year with some leaving and a weak U/17's
